My guess is that the thugs were ready to riot and especially, to loot, win or lose! Are they just copying the spoiled youth in many places?

I watched quite a bit of it live last night,
I was struck by the simian nature of these
protestors actions. The jumping over fires,
the posturing, Look at me, etc. the hooting
shouting and senseless destruction all to
create an image of superiority among peers.
Heard some protestors or yutes claim that
the first truck torched was brought there
just for that purpose by it’s owner.
The police were very slow to act although
their tactics were effective. Still, letting
the mob do millions of dollars of damage first
doesn’t make much sense. Plenty of video evidence
should bring some of the perps a wake up call and
jail time.

1- this is not the first time...they also had huge riots in 1994 when the canucks lost the cup to the NY Rangers...
2- isn’t Vancouver the most liberal of all the canadian provinces?? (quebec excluded).....didn’t they have the fiercest anti-iraq war peace protests??? constantly burning GWB in effigy???

As some here say, it seems that a lot of the trouble makers were there specifically to cause trouble. (Most were just drunken louts; some came dressed in the black uniform of self-styled anarchists.) They are not sports fans!
One thing I noticed, while watching the riots on live TV, was the number of cellphone cameras in play. Most of the crowd weren't actual rioters. They seemed to be hanging around to watch the fireworks — and take pictures. My guess is that there were, at least, 10 cellphone cameras for every criminal thug rioter. A quick search on Youtube produced 1,810 hits for “Vancouver riot 2011. I expect that there are thousands more to come. A lot of the rioters were clearly performing for the cameras.
It's simply the outcome of liberalism.
