Those California racists! Banning “chocolate milk” is yet another blatant example of continuing racism. Did they ban “white” milk also????

An enterprising kid can make money selling chocolate powder to kids. A nice little black market can flourish in the schools.

An approach which would neatly dovetail the issues of lactose intolerance and “excess” calories would be to pre-treat the chocolate milk with lactase. That would supply a sweet flavor without extra sugar calories or indigestible lactose.

Frankly, these are kids and decades ago most kids did not need to worry about being fat until well into their adulthood. Then recess times, when kids would jump, run, pirouette, and otherwise work off excess energy, not because Jack LaLanne told them to but just because they were kids, got truncated to less than 15 minutes — and pill-pushers to subdue these restless tribes were unleashed upon the classrooms.

I see the United States is importing England’s Nanny State, oh boy.

Banning whole classes of foods is much easier than teaching kids reading, writing, mathematics, and history.

Exactly. I do not like the taste of milk, never have. I never drink it, voluntarily (unless I have either Oreos or fresh Chocolate Chip Cookies). But, add some Hershey's chocolate or Nesquick Strawberry to it; and I will drink that.

Libtards are a pretty stupid bunch; in their limited world-view; it's either drink what they command, or drink nothing at all. I'd think that letting the kids drink flavored milk is far better for growing children than drinking nothing at all.

I am sorry, I teach High School in NC and we serve pizza, hot dogs, super hamburgers, french fries, you name it, it is all fat! Every once in a while we have fruit and veggies. Any kind of milk would insure students at least get something healthy. Talk about sugar, how about the chocolate chip cookies or the cakes they have for sale. School cafeterias are in for the profit not for the health of our students.

Spot on. When I was a kid, we unleashed our nervous energy at recess and didn't have to be turned into zombies with prescription drugs.

Easy solution.

Pack a lunch for your kids. Chocolate milk included.

Stop getting ‘free’ lunches from the state.

Reminds me of getting only plain ole regular white milk when I was in school in the 50s and 60s.

And many of us survived.

Depends on the milk. I buy a brand of milk with no hormones or additives. It is just homogonised and pasturised whole milk - it has a rich, creamy flavour.

FINALLY they have figured it out!!!!

It’s NOT the overpaid, near impossible to fire, incompetent union libs teaching our children everything they don’t need to learn... it’s the flavored milks!!!

I cry just thinking about all that I could have become had I not had chocolate milk.

Well, at least now we know.

My state is already too far gone to be saved anyway, this is just the icing on the cake..if I had kids I wouldnt send them to LAUSD anyway, home schooling is the best option, especially in this state

LA probably has one of the highest levels of lactose intolerance in America (outside almost any Indian reservation, or Hawaii).

This effort to discourage children from drinking milk during that very short period of their lives when they can still do so is just the purest of racism.

How could they let some English guy come in there and tell them to not let the kids drink milk as they like it?

You got it...No milk...No sunshine...Early bone thinning...

And it so happens that chocolate is good for you. Personally, I think Jamie is a self serving jerk.
