Turnpike targets $3.75 Million for Traveler Information Systems (1996: Rick Santorun Pork)
Pennsylvania Turnpike ^ | October 7, 1996 | Kathy Liebler

Posted on 06/16/2011 5:49:27 PM PDT by JimWayne

"I want to thank several members of Pennsylvania's Congressional delegation for their bi-partisan support in securing the ITS grant," Durbin said. "Senators Arlen Spector and Rick Santorum were outstanding in their support of this effort. Congressmen Tom Foglietta, John Fox, John Murtha and Joe McDade were also instrumental in securing the funding in the House of Representatives. I thank them all and look forward to their continued support as the Turnpike moves toward the implementation of more advanced information and communication systems."

Intelligent Transportation Systems, Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) and Variable Message Signs (VMS). Wow! This is what Rick Santorum stands for.

Another cannibalistic poster. The democrats LOVE people like you. Republican cannibals are why democrats, even though they are in the extreme minority, keep getting elected.

Santorum is one of the good guys. Anyone can see that.

Wrong. I support Sarah Palin and politicians like her. Santorum is a Romney supporter. I will never forgive him. So he steals my money and you still support him? He voted for ethanol, voted for Amtrak and supported Mitt Romney. He will once again support Mitt Romney (if Romney wins due to the conservative votes getting split, I am willing to wager that Santorum will be his running mate). I cannot support Rick Santorum no matter what. The moderates who believe in “bipartisanship” should join the Democrat Party.

Better than bridges to no where, tunnels to no where, airports with no passengers.

If he is a good guy, why did he vote for ethanol (this is related to Climate Change)? Why did he endorse Mitt Romney? Why did he get pork funding for useless stuff like those listed above? Why did he want even more theft in favor of Amtrak? Answer why I should support all of these.

When I first saw the dozens on dozens of EZ-Pass card readers going up I thought they might be alpha-particle capable radiation detectors. I was happy. But I stopped and yapped with an installation crew about them. Discovered they were for traffic flow monitoring by ID'g individual vehicles, passenger occupancy, speed and route.

So instead of protecting us against dirty bombs, I find they are more likely to be used to tax and fine.

So by that logic, we should let the pubbies say one thing after they have done something else... And then excuse it away so they can get elected...

ALL the declared candidates have warts... I for one want to see who the BEST is during the primary process. If that means calling EACH & EVERY one of them out, then so be it... The “debate” the other night was disgraceful. They should have been beating up on each other more and 0bama less... One only need to look around to see what he’s accomplished...

“Without Carter, there would not have been Reagan”...

Where’s our Reagan?

If Rick Santorum was simply demanding that federal gas taxes paid by Pennsylvania motorists be spent on highways in Pennsylvania, what is wrong with that?

I sure as hell wish our useless congressional delegation down here in Maryland would do that, why should we have to pay tolls to use our roads when our gas taxes are used to pay for shiny new non-toll highways in other states.

He also supported abortion in 1990 before he learnt to use the pro-life rhetoric to get votes.

Not only that, even Reagan had his liberal moments. No GOP contender is perfect, but every liberal contender is awful.

“Where’s our Reagan?”

By your logic, you would have blackballed Reagan for MANY, MANY things he did.

I’m glad you’re serious, but you have to divide between sheep and goats/wheat and chaff a little more carefully than the way these Connibals do.

“alpha-particle capable radiation detectors”

There would be no point in putting up such a device. An alpha particle is HUGE. They have a maximum travelling distance of a few inches.

But yeah, tracking technology sucks. Don’t get an EZ-pass!

Santorum supported Specter instead of Toomey - why should we trust him?

Santorum isn’t the worst of the lot, but I heard him defend earmarks on the Bill Bennett show a few weeks back when a move was made to end earmarks. I think too much D.C. rubbed off on him when he was in the House and Senate.

I’m not saying “trust”. Only God deserves trust!

What’s he doing anyway? Is he running for the nomination? This is the 1st news I’ve read today
