Socially Disadvantaged Farmers and Ranchers
United States Department of Agriculture ^ | 6-16-11

Posted on 06/16/2011 8:27:01 PM PDT by artichokegrower

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) makes and guarantees loans to approved socially disadvantaged applicants to buy and operate family-size farms and ranches.

A socially disadvantaged (SDA) farmer, rancher, or agricultural producer is one of a group whose members have been subjected to racial, ethnic, or gender prejudice because of his or her identity as a member of the group without regard to his or her individual qualities. SDA groups are women, African Americans, American Indians, Alaskan Natives, Hispanics, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.

Good grief.......all those above groups, when they were in power in their lands victimized the weaker in their cultures. It is the history of all people. All people were racist to outsiders and it was the white Christians who allowed women status in a culture and gave minorities rights....No rights for minorities and women existed in other societies.

The concept of minority rights and women rights comes from Christianity.

Why are we allowing unequal under the law in the USA? That is SO unconstitutional.

This is social engineering....we really have to return to the Constitution and treat everyone as EQUAL under the law.

Governments can not be social engineers and central planners. They always destroy whatever they touch.

Gosh! Gays aren't socially disadvantaged farmers and ranchers?

This stuff has to stop in the next administration. It's asinine, unfair and unAmerican.

I am a one legged, one armed, one eyed, transvestite, American with lineage of the mutt variety. A little island pacifica, some American indian, some spanish some kind, my grandmother was not sure, some where in my lineage I am sure I could find an asiatic type.Might be able to prove some African descent, seems I remember that all of us trace our roots back to Africa.
I have never farmed but if the govt is handing out money I will be sure to get some, then maybe I can move out of this here trailer and get me a farm. What is a Farm by the way.
If II have a farm does that mean I must work. Damn this free money does come with some strange strings. Tell you what give me the money I will dazzle the ladies with my new found wealth. You keep the farm, will cut into my free time, cannot have that.

When I run out of money I am sure my people in DC will figure a way to skim some more of you RICH white folks.
