Presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann joins fellow conservatives Newt Gingrich and Tim Pawlenty in being attacked with glitter by gay rights activists.
According to the Star Tribune, the Minnesota congresswoman was glittered Saturday after delivering a speech at the RightOnline Conference. The publication reports that Minneapolis gay-rights activist Rachel E.B. Lang came up to Bachmann and twice chucked glitter at her. (Major Garrett critical of 2012 Bachmann bid because she cant keep anybody on her staff)
Bachmann continued walking even as Lang yelled, You can run, but you cant hide. Lang was quickly removed by security.
My response to Michele Bachmanns hateful and anti-gay rhetoric was light-hearted, but these issues are very serious, Lang said in a statement. Bachmanns support of groups like You Can Run But You Cannot Hide show exactly how extremist she is she in no way represents the values of Minnesota and certainly does not represent the values of America.
During former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlentys book signing in San Francisco last week, two females threw pink glitter and feathers on him.
Last month, a protester dumped glitter onto Gingrich and his wife Callista during the former House speakers book signing.
The GOP leadership is not loyal to this country or to the Constitution and I will not support them. Show me a Conservative, then I'll vote.
That's criminal ... misdemeanor assault; perhaps even assault and battery.
Give them what they deserve.
“I wouldn’t vote for Obama, but there is no way I’d vote for Romney.”
So you wouldn’t vote to replace Obama which sounds like you support a continuation of the current administration. I don’t. I’ll vote to replace Obama. This idea that Romney is worse than Obama is just drivel.
So are you going to send Obama money if he runs against Romney?
You think I'm part of the problem? I think you're part of the problem.
And let's be clear: a citizen's vote should be EARNED. I do not OWE anyone my vote. The GOP has not closed the deal with me -- that reflects on them, not me.
That is not at all what I said. If NOT voting for a Dem-Lite RINO means not voting at all, so be it.
civility.
civil rhetoric.
It’s just the new way to tar and feather someone and should be prosecuted as criminal assault along with significant civil damages.
You are confusing the primary with the general election. In the primary, you have lots of choices for candidates. In the general election, you either get the Republican or you get the Democrat.
If you don’t vote for the Republican, you support the Democrat. Then YOU become part of the problem.
I voted for McCain because I thought he was a better choice than Obama. You obviously thought Obama was a better choice.
The Democrats thank you for not voting against Obama.
I am not alone in saying that the Republican Party has lost its way. It is not supporting a real conservative viewpoint. The party establishment seems to be favoring inside the beltway types of politicians who do not win elections.
These observations are not new. People have criticized the party on this score for quite a few years. The GOP does not seem to be getting it and is not changing. I point to Michael Steele as an example. Or John McCain and his current call to cut the defense budget and to start a hot war with libya. What is the party doing????
So, here I am, with quite a few other people, and I say "The GOP has lots its way" --
And your consistent response seems to be "Oh? I bet you're sorry you voted for Obama!"
You're not receiving the message. You're just transmitting insults.
On this we completely agree and that candidate is Obama.
if the debt ceiling is raised without attaching a complete repeal of Obamacare to the legislation...
That's a naive proposition. We're not there yet. We need to capture another branch of government first. We need another branch of Congress or the Presidency or both.
OK, but either of them is more conservative than Obama. I won’t take more Obama. I’d rather a RINO than Obama.
But that’s what you are saying. You are the one saying “If Romney is the nominee, I’m OK with Obama getting re-elected. I’m OK with Obama choosing Supreme Court justices, etc because I will not vote for someone who isn’t a perfect conservative “. That’s what YOU are saying.
I’m saying that if the decision is between Romney and Obama, I’m voting for Romney. Romney is a better choice than Obama.
This was a threat, imho.
The country and it’s voters are still deeply divided at 50/50. When fringe voters and independent/moderate minorities start determining election results, you have a much bigger problem than a certain Marxist President.
It is not a matter of who the President is, but how he became elected in the first place. Most everybody on this Forum, seems to think that the entire nation thinks like they do and expect those same results in election outcomes.
And when that does not happen, they deny accepting the real cause. It is a stark reality that America as a whole, does not accept, or agree with dedicated Conservative principles. The very opposite is what is real and it is getting much worse with each passing month that these new generations take charge.
Instead of unloading all their artillery on their own troops (The GOP and Republican Party.) they need to focus on the real enemy, the Universities and Public schools system, as well as the current batch of Parents who raise their children to become Marxist drones.
But here, all we hear is that he is somewhat lower than sewer sludge, and is much, much worse than Obama himself, to the point that they would rather see Obama reelected if Romney gets the nomination.
I would never support of promote Romney as a candidate, but if he is our only choice, I would crawl over proverbial glass to vote for him, than to suffer another Obama term. (Few here, seem to understand how much of the real damage Obama will do, if he wins a second term!)
During the primary, I am voting for anyone BUT Romney. The Republicans do not pick the candidate that will run. People VOTE in the primary. The guy with the most votes(states) wins.
So if Democrats get wind that Republicans will bale if Romney gets the nod, they will vote for him in the primary.
Excellent and correct. That’s why whenever someone asks me what we need to do; I always say vouchers.
They’re coming and Teacher’s Unions are being broken permanently. We’re winning, but they’ll not go easily into that dark night.
Conservatives who won’t support the “more conservative” candidates aren’t just CINOs, but babies.
Then the debt ceiling stays right where it is or Republicans are finished...
Pile of $hit A or pile of $hit B...
Air freshener isn't going to fix it and simply putting a Republican face on Marxism isn't going to help either...
