“...a portion of the Pledge...” was omitted. Amazing. Even while apologizing for leaving out “under God”, they still can’t bring themselves to say the words they left out. Hey, NBC, repeat after me: “UNDER GOD.”

RE: From the other thread for ya! :)

Just in case you missed this (FR is being wonky for me today also):

NBC Offers Incomplete Apology For Editing ‘Under God’ Out Of Pledge
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2736966/posts

The more I think about this the angrier I get... At first, I couldn't believe it. They've sunk to a new low... Whoever participated in this act of censorship should be fired forthwith. A professional media organization broadcast is NOT the proper arena for staff to carry out political/social protests. It's just plain unprofessional, period.

Well, here's what I have to say to these intolerant socialist propagandists:

You'll NEVER make me “drop” GOD. Where is the so-called “tolerance”? YOU don't have to say it personally if you don't want to, but why must you be so anti-tolerance and strive at creating controversy at every turn? You (unethical journalists in the old media), are all walking contradictions with no pride, and even less intelligence. For all the crowing you do for supposed “left-wing” causes you must not believe anything that comes out of your own mouths because your actions are the antithesis of your claimed desires and beliefs. But, I suppose that's a common occurrence in the life of a “progressive”."

“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, with liberty and justice for all.”
~~~~~~~
I didn’t make it clear:
“I pledge allegiance to the STATE.” -— in their mind and future, the rest doesn’t matter.
While trying not to offend the atheist minority they end up offending the religious majority and see no problem in doing so.
I am a member of the USGA and just sent them a note that I will not renew my membership unless they make a public and very specific communication criticizing NBC for this decision and an assurance this will not happen again.
We need to push back otherwise this approach to make us a Godless country will continue.
NBC has no excuse that will work. This was an outright attack on Christianity in America.
This was no slight omission that one or two people happened to do. It was not accidently edited out.
Everyone knows...something that would be viewed by so many...something so important...WOULD HAVE BEEN REVIEWED OVER AND OVER BEFORE AIRING. NO WAY WOULD ONE PERSON, OR EVEN TWO BE ABLE TO MAKE AN EDITING ACCIDENT BEFORE AIRING. NO WAY DID THE TOP NBC EXECUTIVES NOT SEE, AND APPROVE THIS. IT WAD INTENTIONAL. PERIOD !!!
APOLOGIES ARE HOLLOW WHEN SOMETHING IS PLANNED.
Thank you for taking the time to send the USGA a note.
I agree if we let this go or say it is unimportant what next?
It was no accidnt of editing and NBC’s explanation is as offensive as the deliberate leaving the phrase Under God out was.
I saw an old Loony Tunes cartoon a few years ago in which Uncle Sam shows Porky Pig the history of the United States.
At the end, Porky salutes the flag and recites the Pledge. But he leaves out "under God". I was outraged for about ten seconds before realizing that this cartoon was made in the late 1940's; before President Eisenhower added "under God" to the Pledge after hearing a recitation of Lincoln's Gettysburg Address: "...that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom...".
this was not an accident.
after having watched it, it was a very deliberate ommision of “indivisible, under god.”
