I see no reason to give any raises for the foreseeable future, and I’m an employee of the USPS. I refuse to join my union precisely because of these shenanigans. And because I know where my dues would go.

Seriously, if we got back to Constitutional limits to government, the USPS would be profitable.

“right-size”

I hate weasel jargon like that. Just say ‘we’re going to fire a bunch of people’. Damn small sack sh*theads.

Deliver the mail- only the mail.

It has to have a name, address, and a stamp.

No ‘occupent’,’resident’, or ‘valued customer’.

Just the mail.

Get rid of anybody with less than 5 years on the job.

Let capitalism solve the problem.

So do I have to do business with every organization that has ever hired a veteran? Or is the USPS a special case? Should I get some extra credit cards and spread my spending among them so I get even more bills and pay them through the mail? How about if I just take the money I would have wasted on stamps and spend it at the local VFW fish fry?

(repeat the above comment 4 more times)

and what of the veterans with IT training who work for those online services?

It works both ways.

The USPS should exist as a legal transport system.

I am surprised the USPS never got into providing email accounts.
