Let’s hope Issa does not stop with the ATF. This isn’t over yet.
Holder is the one who should resign! This guy is the sacrificial lamb, isn’t he?!
Take Holder with ya...
I agree, this is far from over. This had to have been authorized by Holder himself, but I won’t hold my breath until he’s held accountable for anything.
Yes he is. And WTH is with the he may resign in ‘the coming days.’ “Holder to meet with him.”Holder will tell him to shut the hell up and offer him cash or what?
They want Andrew Traver to fill in as acting? Oh geez, he’s the Chicago ATF guy. Another Chicago guy in the administration, unbelievable.
Where’s my pension?
This is only the beginning, they will get to Holder.
The ATF director needs to be on the list for prosecution or extradition to Mexico.
Soro’s must have sent out his DUmmy bloggers; there is actually a comment under the article saying “it is not corruption it was a botched operation.”
Smoke and Mirrors!
This is designed to distract from the real lynchpins — Obama and Holder.
Keep pressing, Issa!
“Botched” because it didn’t accomplish its goal of providing 0bama with an excuse to push through more gun control.
“Botched” because it didn’t accomplish its goal of denying that there is a crime problem on the border that would be solved with more enforcement.
We want blood!! Feed them all to the lions, bears and alligators.
Check my tagline.
Exactly! We need to know how high up the chain this goes.
Issa should not let up!
It just goes down to their [only] core beliefs:
Advancement of communism is a moral good.
Thwarting that advancement is evil.
There could BE no disincentive too harsh in a case like that.
There is plenty of room under the bus. This is just the first sacrificial lamb. You can bet it came from higher than this to allow this fiasco. My bet is at least Holder.
Good. Now slap his ass with a Subpeona and put him under oath in front of Issa’s committee.
There should be enough information and evidence out for Mexico to issue indictments & arrest warrants for various ATF officials and the director.
All the way to Obama,Jarrett and his entire admin.Common sense prevails otherwise. Issa Promised the family Justice all around so the next move is a subpoena to Kenneth Melson whether he resigned or not.
Got to get their stories straight, huh...
"Yes, Congressman, that's my story and I'm sticking to it."
In a few days don’t be surprised to find this guy on the missing person’s list, turning up in a parking garage somewhere in a few weeks.
The only botched part of it is that it generated whistle blowers willing to tell the truth about it.
The cover up after the fact is the corruption.
Hey. Weiner hasn’t resigned, either. No letter to Boehner. He just SAID he will resign.
Did Melman actually have responsibility for the plan, or is he just the scapegoat? Is he a Republican?
They want the head of the ATF in Chicago to head up the ATF after the resignation. They wanted him in before, but the repubs didn’t want him. So, they are finding a way to get their guy in one way or another. What do they say about not letting a crises go to waste. How ya like that one?
The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Nah, doesn't it require Senate approval? Just let this guy resign and don't confirm the replacement. Who cares if the JBT department can't function? They shouldn't be anyway. If The Won can come up with an acceptable replacement, then fine. No reason to be too accommodating, THEY'RE the ones that want the department to exist in the first place.
It’s pretty corrupt that they would use this plan as a means and cover for their anti gun laws. They were spouting off how 90% of guns in Mexico came from the US just before this operation started. They told dealers to sell the guns, told the agents to let them go over the border when they wanted to stop the trucks. They knew people would be killed, why...so they could tally numbers and say they were from illegal gun purchases and tighten control. That alone is corruption. Their lies and cover up is more corruption.
Issa will get to “Black Panther” Holder, and to the Moslem-In-Chief, Omoslem.
The whole cabal of dirty moslem commies will tumble from their magic carpet, one way or another.
Yeah never mind who gave him the order.
ATF Acting Director Kenneth E. Melson
Kenneth E. Melson was named as Acting Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives by President Obama. He assumed the post on April 12, 2009.
Most recently, Mr. Melson served as the Director of the Executive Office for U.S. Attorneys, where he was responsible for administrative oversight of the 94 U.S. Attorneys Offices and for liaison between the U.S. Attorneys and other Federal agencies and Department of Justice (DOJ) components.
Mr. Melson is a graduate of the National Law Center at The George Washington University. After serving as a state prosecutor in Arlington County, Virginia, he joined the United States Attorneys Office for the Eastern District of Virginia in 1983, becoming the First Assistant United States Attorney in 1986.
Mr. Melson is a co-chair of the Subcommittee on Forensic Science, Committee on Science of the National Science and Technology Council within the Executive Office of the President. He is a Past President of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS) and in 2006, became Chair of the Council of Scientific Society Presidents. Mr. Melson has been an adjunct professor at The George Washington University for over 30 years, teaching law and forensic science courses at both the law school and the Department of Forensic Sciences, and publishes in both scientific texts and legal journals.
No operation of this magnitude happens without Napolitano,Holder,Clinton,Obama knowing.
As soon as they find a landing zone with a muzzle on him, the bus will move out of the basement and take him out.
The whistle blowers are in protective custody I am sure so maybe this Melson guy needs to be as well?
Let the falling dominoes continue to fall. Hopefully Melson will tell all he knows. These fiends not only need to be fired - all the way to the top - but face serious charges and receieve serious prison sentences.
Not good enough. Melson and everyone in the chain of command should stand trial as accessories to murder.
That makes it sound like some unintended consequence, when in fact that was the whole purpose of the program.
RESIGN!!Howsabout some jail time?
Yeah, they were illegal gun purchases and export...how is this not a violation of the arms export control act? Weapons were going to terrorists which is one of the tenets of the act. Of course the pissadent could have made a finding it was not a violation. Maybe someone should ask him about that on his twitter account.
Sad thing is they probably still haven’t stopped the program as the Assistant AG under Holder was asked under oath if the program was still on going and he said “I DON’T KNOW.”
Obama Holder Napolitano and Clinton can’t say it was a classified operation as th Assistant AG led to believe under oath as if it was and we are missing something to explain this that is classified they would not be firing Melson. They just dropped their hand again.(As Assistant AG did under sworn testimony when he said the executive branch.)
LOL I needed that laugh. Obama has a twitter?
