Stern writer threatened after Weiner outburst
MSNBC ^ | June 20, 2011 | Marianne Garvey

Howard Stern writer Benjy Bronk certainly caused chaos during Anthony Weiner's public farewell address.

But he definitely didn't deserve the violent threat aimed at him following the outburst.

So what happened?

After Bronk interrupted Weiner's speech with a barrage of questions — "Will you maintain your hot physique and smooth sexy chest?" — he was escorted out by police, who, Bronk revealed, actually laughed while hauling him out because they were huge fans of the Stern show.

While outside, Bronk was surrounded by different media outlets who wanted to find out where he was from and why he was shouting absurd questions.

In the midst of the interviews, one man was caught on tape (by a Stern camera crew) approaching Bronk and whispering in his ear, "If you ever do that again, you'll never walk again."

On his radio show Monday, Stern instructed his staffers to deliver the tape to the NYPD so they could find the culprit, who is clearly visible in the video. Stern explained that whether you found humor in Bronk's stunt or not, he was going for comedy, not trying to harm anyone.

The tolerant left.

They'd be giving this guy a parade if he had done this to a Republican...

Stern won't let this go. He'll keep pushing for prosecution.

Prosecutions, like lesbians, equal ratings.

So, was the “threatener” a member of the state controlled media or was he a union member.

Not many other possibilities.

Stern is so frustrating because he is right (correct) on things like this more often than not. He may be a jerk but he is an unabashed champion for the 1st Amendment — he landed OK, but he even put his job on the line for it.

A writer for Howard Stern is NOT a journalist - and should not be afforded any of the customary privileges or credentials as are given “working journalists”. He’s just another schmuck - like the guy he writes for - who is a waste of technology and resources. And oxygen.

A writer for Howard Stern is NOT a journalist

Careful with that thought. There's already been talk of licensing journalists..............restricting the 2nd amendment under the guise of protecting it...............and yes the guy is a jerk, but that ain't against the law..........yet...............

The industry is self-regulating with regard to who should or should not be afforded the privileges of being a “news reporter” - a writer for Howard Stern does not pass the simplest of those tests... working for a bonafide news organization or program. Howard Stern is not a news program, nor is he a news anchor or reporter, so anyone representing Stern is not due the privileges afforded true working reporters.

There are laws against threatening violence against even non-journalist commoners who ask stupid questions.

Not a real Howard Stern fan, but I certainly will give him kudos for this and especially on the hit job he did on Obamajad voters when he took his cameras on the streets of NYC and starting posing questions like:

Don’t you think Obama did a great job picking Sarah Palin for his VP? (And the voters went yeah! Yeah! She’s great! We need her!)

And...Obama’s a great guy being such a pro-lifer and will fight abortions. (And the Obama voters went: Right! We don’t really need to be killing babies.)

And...Isn’t it great that Obama supports the war in Iraq? (And the Obama voters went: Right! After what those terrorists did here in NYC we need to be all over the Middle East!)

It was hilarious and I was rolling in the floor. I will thank Stern for showing how dumb Obama voters were on the issues.

Where was the creature known as Chuck Schumer when this happened? Does he have an alibi? He is pure evil.

Howard Stern is not a news program, nor is he a news anchor or reporter, so anyone representing Stern is not due the privileges afforded true working reporters.

Neither is Jon Stewart, but many people get their 'news' from him...............and the minions of the left still refer to FOX as Faux News.............I'll tolerate the antics of Sterns and Stewart because I don't want to go down that slippery slope of deciding 'who' is going to be given that 2nd amendment 'right' and who is not................

Hey Howard, how’s all that sucking up to the Libs workin for ya?

I don't usually listen to Stern live anymore for that reason, but I do catch the replays of shows from the mid to late '90s, when he was at his height. IMO, Howard jumped the shark when he divorced Alison and Jackie left the show - he lost his edge and went Hollywood after that (hence the leftward shift).

I did make the mistake of tuning in to the live show once last week, in the aftermath of the Weiner affair - he was noting the reality that it was Weiner's lying, not the actual sexting, that was his real downfall. Unfortunately, some a$$hole then called in to the show and made a BDS remark about 'lying about sex not being as bad about lying to go to war'. And Howard agreed with the douchebag. And I changed the station.

Indeed. And anyone responsible for making a threat should be held accountable. It does not negate the fact that Stern’s minion is not a journalist, and should not have been in the room in the first place. The person running the press conference should not have let Stern’s minion in the door. And if he would have cause a scene about it, he could/should have been held accountable as well.
