Ron Paul Issues Statement on ATF Gun Scandal

LAKE JACKSON, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, 2012 GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul commented on the recent revelations about the federal government’s botched program to track gun sales. See statement below.

“The ATF has a long history of abusing our Second Amendment rights, so I was glad to see Congressman Issa demanding answers on the Project “Gunwalker”

“The ATF has a long history of abusing our Second Amendment rights, so I was glad to see Congressman Issa demanding answers on the Project “Gunwalker” scandal.

“My hope is that the recent hearing will further expose the ATF's and Attorney General Eric Holder's assaults on law-abiding gun owners, and more people will start questioning the need for unconstitutional agencies like the ATF that exist solely to infringe on American citizens' God-given right to keep and bear arms.”

I wish they would stop treating it like a screw up. It was an intentional criminal act and the only thing they botched was keeping it hidden.

When he speaks on Second Amendment or Pro Life issues I never find anything to disagree with him on.

[ Ron Paul is right on many issues. ]

Just keep him away from Foreign policy!

I might actually vote for Paul if it was Paul/Bolton.

ATF has always been an out of control renegade government agency. I say disband the agency and let the FBI or marshal’s service take up their legitimate duties

Bingo!

This was bribery and nothing less....please do not pee upon my feet and tell me it’s raining.

The border states have been cracking down on this Mexican crap and...tada....the Mexican drug lords are a little short on needed guns.

Mexico, heh...a nothing burger country populated by small brained people who have done nothing with that beautiful rich land God gave them but send their citizens to America to send money back home, to supply the planet with drugs....with a few tourist attractions thrown in amongst the kidnappings and killings.

So Eric Holder....the WORST AG this country has ever had, bar none....a symbol of total shame he is....is promised a few bucks in an off-shore account, a few more bucks for Obamer’s campaign upcoming....JUST GET US SOME MORE GUNS!

Let’s hope this opposition party goes after this big time.

I’m in admiration of Issa but he needs the rest of the party to back him.

An American citizen on our border was killed with guns smuggled to Mexico, intentionally and for money, by our own head of American law......

The pubs....they gotta risk mussing head hairs and quit reaching across the damn aisle.

This is grounds for impeachment but you’ll never find Obamer’s name on it. If the pubs keep at it, we might be able to get Holder....awful, awful man.

Ron Paul is a jackass.

It’s not “gunwalker”. It’s not even “Gunrunner”.

Here’s a free clue for jackasses.

Gunrunner was started under Bush. It tracked straw buyers, arrested them and seized the weapons.

Fast and Furious was started under Obama. It tracked straw buyers, did NOT arrest them and did NOT seize the weapons.

You are correct. Nothing zero and his goons do is unintentional. They know exactly what they are doing and it is to destroy our 2nd Amendment rights....actually all our rights “Under God”. That is why they keep leaving out those words (intentionally) to help people forget that it isn’t government that is the source of all our rights.

Can imagine how the media would be portraying this if it had happened under Bush?

I like Ron Paul. Sure some of his positions get a bit odd, but overall, he would leave us off a lot better than if we get romney, Huntsman or some other RINO

That could very well be true, but I'd still always be just a bit nervous.

Still, it is nice of him to get on board.

I would go so far as to say that it was a criminal act with a treasonous act being the ultimate goal.

So, Obozo’s Reichstag fire backfired on him. It would behoove us if there were really a party in opposition to the negro nazi party in power in the US.

The so called “republican” party will not rock the boat enough to dare risk losing their power.

The 1990s taught us that the ruling republicrat oligarchy has no interest in really punishing corrupt presidential regimes. It’s just a show to make us think the rule of law still exists in America.

I don’t know if its possible but congress needs to refuse to seat a new ATF appointee sent by Obama and choose one of their own to investigate from the inside.

I am always amazed when I see how correct Paul is...... during his occasional, sometimes rare, moments of lucidity.

Paul can smell the corpse and so should anyone else with more than 2 working brain cells.

ATF is criminally culpable, as well as Holder and in my opinion-—Obama. Proving that will of course be near impossible. Issa better keep his pencils very sharp.

This is not just a screwup, a mistake, a boo boo, an act of incompetence or anything else that ATF and the other co-conspirators would want us to believe. This is a criminal conspiracy that includes some at the highest levels of our government.

Paul is spot on in his observations/assumptions , although I think he has just touched the surface.

Project Gunwalker is the name given to the investigation.....I have been following this since january...it would appear you have the premise right, but are short on facts...read the reporters report in the examiner, and start from the beginning..fubo is going to be impeached over this, along with napolitano, holder and clinton...and a host of smaller fish...see tagline

Agree 100%. Even if it were an alternate-reality universe and this was accidental, it would be a criminal level of stupidity.

No. It won’t. The system will protect itself. They will toss out a few mid-level fish to appease the sharks and the higher-ups will laugh all the way to the bank.
