The Wisconsin State Assembly is scheduled to debate (and hopefully pass) SB93, the concealed carry bill, which has already passed the Wisconsin State Senate.
The Democrats aren’t running to Illinois for this one?
I think that can only be done once. Doing it again would confirm in the eyes of the world what absolute losers they are.
The Assembly doesn't have the quorum rules the Senate does. Fleeing to Illinois would do nothing other than speed up passage of the bill (they wouldn't be around to submit a long list of lame amendments).
WI Assembly has a quorum with just Republicans, but there will be a number of Dems voting for it too.
“98 members are present. A quorum is present.”
If they pass this, I told my wife we will take a vacation during the WI State Fair. She has never had their cream puffs, sheboyagan brats, or lions club grilled corn.
The Assembly is currently in recess for partisan caucus.
That’s only in the Senate and their rules, not the Assembly.
Looks like they’re back in session and calling the roll.
Debate begins.
Go Walker, go!
Someone arguing now that cops should be informed who has a permit.
Whitewater citing examples of armed citizens who have assisted and saved police officers.
Someone seems to be yelling from the gallery.
“Is the gallery going to let us continue?”
Barca (D): says what Whitewater just said has nothing to do with the amendment “I’d like to know why you’re not willing to stand up for law enforcement.”
Assuming this law gets passed, am I correct in understanding that Illinois will be the only state in the union without concealed carry?
“If they are chasing a bank robber, if they are going after someone who just raped somebody, let’s give them...” blah, blah, blah.
You would think that a police officer would PRESUME that a bank robber or rapist might be armed. Or do they have exceptionally stupid LEOs in Wisconsin?
R points out that the proposed “simple” amendment runs 53 pages.
You are correct.
Going on with the same idiotic nonsense now about letting police know whether the bank robber or rapist might have a gun.
