Think you could avoid the TSA's body scanners and pat-downs by taking Amtrak? Think again.

“TSA Is Searching Your Subway, Truck, Ferry, Bus, AND Plane”
A very misleading title for the article. TSA is not searching any subway, trucks, ferries, buses, or planes.
Need a clip of Obama saying avoid the airport TSA scans and buy on to his fast rail plan instead.
Probably driving by your house and scanning it too.
Uh... I guess you missed this part of the article,
“TSA Administrator John Pistole told Congress last week that the TSA conducts 8,000 unannounced security screenings every year. These screenings, conducted with local law enforcement agencies as well as immigration, can be as simple as checking out cargo at a busy seaport. But more and more, they seem to involve giving airport-style pat-downs and screenings of unsuspecting passengers at bus terminals, ferries, and even subways. These surprise visits are part of the TSA’s VIPR program: Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response. The VIPR program first started doing searches in 2007, and has grown since then. Currently, the TSA only has 25 VIPR teams doing these impromptu searches: in 2012, it wants to get 12 more.”
My buddy had a run-in with TSA on the NYS subways today.
*NYC subways.
As you now know, per the article they are.
Thus, The title is correct... They are just slowly bring it into the main stream.
Well, how in the hell else are these hard working public servants going to have the opportunity to pilfer from passenger luggage to supplement their meager pay?
Damned rail passengers show up with their luggage just minutes before train departure and don't let the luggage out of their sight until it is loaded on boarding. The only real chance to "inspect" luggage is by separating luggage from their capitalist pig owners after they've arrived at their destination.
for a left-wing Socialist rag, Mother Jones actually does some decent reporting from time to time
Think that will stop there? Next step, random car checks AND internal passports.
PAPERS PLEASE!!!
ANYONE who thinks this has anything REMOTELY to do with anti-terrorism security must still be watching cartoons.
This is about PEOPLE control. Its so the Fuhrer will have a mechanism in place when he declares his emergency PUTSCH, to stop any successful revolts.
I know but , UCANSEE2 thinks we are not telling the truth.
Even thought the TSA admits to doing this.
So terrorists won’t be able to avoid them either by taking trains or buses, right?
>>Probably driving by your house and scanning it too.<<
I used my Android PDA GPS/Google Navigator to go to someone’s house the other day.
When I got there, the dang thing showed a photo of the house exactly from where I was sitting!
Creeped me out!
You are absolutely correct. They have about as much of a chance of catching an actual terrorist with these programs as they do finding a lump of gold by panning Lake Michigan.
It started out as anti-terrorism security, didn’t it?
TSA Now Storming Public Places 8,000 Times a Year
"...Bus travelers were shocked when jackbooted TSA officers in black SWAT-style uniforms descended unannounced upon the Tampa Greyhound bus station in April with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies and federal bureaucrats in tow..."
More at the link.
it’s just a matter of time and TSA will prevail on the Postal Service to have customers strip searched and poked in the butt with dirty blue gloves.
LOL... Have you ever looked who the TSA pats down? Nuns, old folks in wheel chairs, 4 year olds, the handicap, veterans and babies....
Even though the Terrorist all fit the same profile.
Have the TSA even stopped one Terrorist?
Answer: No it’s always alert citizens that end up handling it.
