I know a lot of patriotic FReepers aren’t going to like this but I believe this country has become as bad as and possibly worse than NAZI Germany or Communist Russia were in their heyday. The main difference being we of course don’t have concentration camps, gulags or mass killings...yet!
One big difference is that we started from a point of prosperity and other than the unconstitutional search and seizures and the plethora of annoying taxes and laws, we as a nation haven’t felt much real pain. It is on the way though. Hunger, imprisonment, and even more loss of freedom is on our horizon. I don’t see how we can avoid really bad times regardless of who gets elected.
Sure if Republicans take over this cycle the freedom loss won’t be as bad but the economic meltdown of this nation is, I believe, inevitable. I hope like hell I’m wrong but I don’t think so. Everyday it seems the amount of bad news just seems to point in the wrong direction. I’m not seeing anything positive at all. Even the euphoria of the 2010 elections has turned into somewhat of a nightmare with Boehner and company either asleep at the switch or, Heaven help us, in league with or perhaps I should say, in agreement with many of the left wing policies we here at FR are solidly against.
I truly fear for the future of our Republic. We have gone so far astray from the principles of our Founding Fathers it will take nothing short of a miracle to place our feet on the path back to righteousness and prosperity.
I don’t see many freepers disagreeing with that assessment. Homeland inSecurity is off the rails and needs to be reigned in big time.
