What kind of idiot thinks it's a good idea to put food in the gas tank, AND use taxPAYer dollars to do it?

I’m thinking maybe the bill had that one good thing but a bunch of bad stuff. Kind of like including social issues with a Defense funding bill.

I don’t think the Republicans stopped the bill because of the ethanol.

Since all 47 Republicans and only 4 Dems voted to block the bill I have to think there is far more to the story than RINO’s voting against the bill.

Me too. The story did not say much about it but it did say that all 47 Republicans voted against it. If this was another “jobs” bill like the previous Obama backed “jobs” bills, it probably needed to be stopped.

In other words, those sad sacks of crap attached it to a bill they knew would not pass. I am beyond tired of these games...get rid of the whole bunch and start over.

naturally ... why do you think so many voted for the repeal? they knew this was a bridge bill to nowhere.

They never intended for the bill to get out of the senate, it was all for show and tell.

Color me confused....

A week or so ago there were three threads on FR saying the Senate voted 73-27 to end Ethanol subsidies.

Now we’re told they killed it this bill? How can this be? Isn’t a vote on a bill in the Senate final?
