Russia’s Federal Atomic Energy Agency: US orders news blackout over crippled Nebraska Nuclear Plant
Russia’s Federal Atomic Energy Agency (FAAE) / Pakistan News The Nation ^ | June 18, 2011 | Nawaiwaqt Group of News Paper

A shocking report prepared by Russia’s Federal Atomic Energy Agency (FAAE) on information provided to them by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) states that the Obama regime has ordered a “total and complete” news blackout relating to any information regarding the near catastrophic meltdown of the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Plant located in Nebraska.

According to this report, the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Plant suffered a “catastrophic loss of cooling” to one of its idle spent fuel rod pools on 7 June after this plant was deluged with water caused by the historic flooding of the Missouri River which resulted in a fire causing the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) to issue a “no-fly ban” over the area.

Located about 20 minutes outside downtown Omaha, the largest city in Nebraska, the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Plant is owned by Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) who on their website denies their plant is at a “Level 4” emergency by stating: “This terminology is not accurate, and is not how emergencies at nuclear power plants are classified.”

Russian atomic scientists in this FAAE report, however, say that this OPPD statement is an “outright falsehood” as all nuclear plants in the world operate under the guidelines of the International Nuclear and Radiological Event Scale (INES) which clearly states the “events” occurring at the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Plant do, indeed, put it in the “Level 4” emergency category of an “accident with local consequences” thus making this one of the worst nuclear accidents in US history.

I don’t believe it.....this administration hates nuclear power with a passion and would trumpet such a problem from the rooftops in order to further their proven agenda of hamstringing nuclear power in this country.

Humm; a a “total and complete” news blackout relating to any information regarding the near catastrophic meltdown of the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Plant located in Nebraska.

Yet there is a link about the air space and Google brings up many links about the "incident".

If the Dems weren’t such dorks, we’d have the Yucca fuel spent storage online.

Hope all works out OK at the plant.

There are real pictures of this plant surrounded by water on all sides. Just a flood wall is keeping the water out.

This article however, has been debunked as Sorcha Faal material on another forum.

Ft Calhoun closed down because they were concerned about the Missouri river flooding. I'm 20 minutes away, and I think if this were true some of the people who work there would let it slip out. As for obama, he loves a crisis so I don't see him doing anything to protect us.

“The fire occurred on June 7th, and knocked out cooling for approximately 90 minutes. After 88 hours, the cooling pool would boil dry and highly radioactive materials would be exposed.”

In other words, nothing happened because the pumps were off for only about 1% of the time to exposure.

I believe Omaha is one of the few areas doing well... I’m guessing a nuclear problem would throw a nice monkey wrench into those works for the administration

“this administration hates nuclear power with a passion”

Nope.

What do you think happened to Bill Ayers father Thomas G Ayers’s
company Commonwealth Edison Electric?

Exelon was formed from a merger of PECO energy and Commonwealth Edison.

Exelon is the largest nuclear power plant operator in the United States.

From the article:

“Perhaps even more sadly for the American people is this report stating that the Obama regime is “walking in lockstep” with Japan in their attempts to keep the truth of nuclear accidents from their citizens; which in the case of the Japanese can only be labeled as horrific as new evidence points to them knowing within hours of the Great Tsunami that their atomic reactors had melted down, but have only today ordered an evacuation of pregnant women from what are called “radiation hotspots.”
With a country that some scientists are now warning may soon become uninhabitable due to radiation damage, and with reports of mutant rabbits and radioactive whales now being reported, one wonders if in knowing the truth the American people would really want to follow Japan’s “example” instead of those people in Germany and Italy?

Also very interesting—the expansion of the TSA into Obama’s personal army. (page 2).

They could not get away with what this report is claiming. ESPECIALLY after Japan. We have a lot of things to fear from this administration, but trying to keep a secret like this is not one of them.
The envirowhackos would be on this like white on rice.

I think the closest the US has ever come to losing a nuclear power plant is Brown’s Ferry at Athens, Alabama. It wasn’t the federal government that was blacking out information. It was a cascade of mistakes by TVA and local authorities that resulted in failure to get any warning message out. I live 18 miles downwind from this plant and no one in my area got any warning until the event was over. It’s a very interesting and eye opening read(link below). The recent tornado event we had in North Alabama also took out all power including power to Brown’s Ferry. The F5 tornado passed between my home and Brown’s Ferry, missing my house by 4500 feet and missing the nuke plant by about 2 miles I think. I was worried that the plant had been hit and that emergency power equipment could be damaged. It was 3 days before I had any news of its status since all communications were down due to no power.

The article is titled “Rising water, falling journalism’ discussing the absence of news coverage here.

Here’s the other old FR thread I referred to above.

The picture in post 5 of that thread is quite a sight!
