Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, on a fundraising trip through California this week, has rolled out endorsements from a bunch of GOP lawmakers.

...

House Armed Services Committee Chairman Buck McKeon, R-Santa Clarita, said in Romney’s news release that President Obama’s policies have failed California and the nation, while Romney “has a proven record of job creation in both the private sector and as a governor.”

Similarly, state Senate Republican Leader Bob Dutton, R-Rancho Cucamonga, said Romney’s record as governor “speaks for itself.”

“He created jobs, balanced budgets, and cut taxes,” Dutton said. “Mitt Romney knows how the economy works and he has the much-needed experience to lead the country out of the economic downturn.”

Also endorsing Romney are Rep. Mary Bono Mack, R-Palm Springs; state Sen. Tony Strickland, R-Moorpark; state Sen. Sharon Runner, R-Lancaster; state Sen. Bob Huff, R-Diamond Bar; state Sen. Sam Blakeslee, R-San Luis Obispo; state Sen. Mark Wyland, R-Del Mar; Assemblyman Paul Cook, R-Yucca Valley; and Assemblyman Jim Silva, R-Huntington Beach.

As God Almighty is my witness, I will NEVER vote for this man in any capacity. I will stay home on the General Election Day if he is the only ‘conservative’ option.

I hate to break the bad news, but Romney is a done deal.

Between open primaries and GOP insiders 90+% pro-Romney, there will be no serious contest.

The real question is, what happens after?

Sigh.

Obviously I disagree with a Mitt endorsement in ANY event, but

WHAT IS THE RUSH? Things are just getting underway in the ‘12 race. If Perry gets in, that’ll shake things up a lot.

The only reason to endorse now is to kiss up to the endorse-ee. (And Buck McKeon has no reason to do that; he’s probably too old to benefit from anything that a President Romney could give him.)

LOL...the same state that is plundering tax payers and killing off business?....whoooo hooooo, I bet Romney bots are terrified of this endorsement. Maybe this will be Romneys “Newt Gingrich” moment. It’s all downhill from here.

Well, I agree about the GOP, but Mitt is not a Democrat.

He's a manager. Like Dukakis, like Carter, like Bob Dole he doesn't GET the whole political thing. He thinks it's stupid.

His game plan, which works great for VC and for major complex projects, is to get all the experts in a room, Delphi them to death, and drag a plan out of them - and announce to the people that the experts have spoken.

There are domains where this is good - making tons of money is one of them - but national leadership is something different, something he has (I think) no clue about.

But he's nice to children and dogs, at at Treasury I'm sure he would kick ass.

Oh, I get that. When you look at the voting of mormons for candidates, when they (mormons) generally live very conservative lives, will however vote for a liberal mormon. Example: Romney 94%, Reid 67%.
It is probably not actually different than any other group who identifies with a candidate. There just seems to be a big disconnect between the way they (lds) live and who they vote for on average.
