First time I saw 10th Mountain Division, you guys were in southern Iraq. When I went back to visit Afghanistan, you guys were the first ones there. I had the great honor of seeing some of you because a comrade of yours, Jared Monti, was the first person who I was able to award the Medal of Honor to who actually came back and wasnt receiving it posthumously."
The problem is, Jared Monti was killed in action in Afghanistan, on June 21, 2006. He was awarded the Medal of Honor posthumously, September 17, 2009. President Obama handed the framed medal to his parents, Paul and Janet Monti. He and the First Lady comforted them in the Oval Office following the ceremony.

What a clod. Obama is so disconnected he doesn't even know WHO he is giving the highest recognition the military can give to and when!

What comfort? How can you comfort them when you didn’t even know their son was dead? Odummy could care less and it shows. Anyone who votes for him in 2012 should be horsewhipped!

Painting Obama as a genius is like trying to pass off a pop tart as french pastry. The MSM, and other liberals with a soapbox should bury their heads in dirt for the ludicrous b.s. they've been trying to propagate about how ‘intellectual’ this White House is, and how eloquent and elegant Obama is as president. It's beyond laughable. At the same time, these vile and poorly informed elitists try to hang the mantle of stupidity on Palin and everyone else they don't like.

Shameful and embarrassing. And this uncaring dope has approvals in the 40s?
The fact that his staff can’t do BASIC research aside, the trend of callousness and indifference to our military is simply shocking. I get this mental picture of Obama and his staff sighing dramatically and rolling their eyes each time they have to do something involving the American military. They probably slapped his speech together and loaded it into the teleprompter grumbling the entire time.

If Urkel knows Paul Revere didn't warn the British, then he's the fool. Paul Revere did encounter the British and tell them that that Concord and Lexington were prepared for them.
From Paul Revere's own words quoted at: The True Story of Paul Revere
"Just as I reached it, out started six officers, seized my bridle, put their pistols to my Breast, ordered me to dismount, which I did: One of them, who appeared to have the command there, and much of a Gentleman, asked me where I came from; I told him, he asked what time I left it, I told him, he seemed surprised said Sr. may I have your name, I answered my name is Revere, what said he, Paul Revere; I answered yes; the others abused much, but he told me not to be afraid, no one should hurt me; I told him they would miss their aim. He said they should not, they were only awaiting for some deserters they expected down the Road.
I told him I knew better, I knew what they were after; that I had alarmed the country all the way up, that their Boats were catch'd aground, and I should have 500 men there soon; one of them said they had 1,500 coming: he seemed surprised and rode off into the road, and informed them who took me, they came down immeaditly on a full gallop, one of them (whom I since learned was Major Mitchell of the 5th Reg.) Clap (doug d) his pistol to my head, and said he was going to ask me some questions, if I did not tell him the truth, he would blow my brains out.

Obozo uses the fallen to try to boost his public image.
There ought to be pictures of SFC Jared Monti held at each of his campaign stops to remind him. (The promotion was posthumous as well)
-------------------------------
For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty:
Staff Sergeant Jared C. Monti distinguished himself by acts of gallantry and intrepidity above and beyond the call of duty while serving as a team leader with Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 3d Squadron, 71st Cavalry Regiment, 3d Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, in connection with combat operations against an armed enemy in Nuristan Province, Afghanistan, on June 21, 2006.
While Staff Sergeant Monti was leading a mission aimed at gathering intelligence and directing fire against the enemy, his 16-man patrol was attacked by as many as 50 enemy fighters. On the verge of being overrun, Staff Sergeant Monti quickly directed his men to set up a defensive position behind a rock formation. He then called for indirect fire support, accurately targeting the rounds upon the enemy who had closed to within 50 meters of his position. While still directing fire, Staff Sergeant Monti personally engaged the enemy with his rifle and a grenade, successfully disrupting an attempt to flank his patrol. Staff Sergeant Monti then realized that one of his Soldiers was lying wounded in the open ground between the advancing enemy and the patrols position.
With complete disregard for his own safety, Staff Sergeant Monti twice attempted to move from behind the cover of the rocks into the face of relentless enemy fire to rescue his fallen comrade. Determined not to leave his Soldier, Staff Sergeant Monti made a third attempt to cross open terrain through intense enemy fire. On this final attempt, he was mortally wounded, sacrificing his own life in an effort to save his fellow Soldier.
Staff Sergeant Montis selfless acts of heroism inspired his patrol to fight off the larger enemy force. Staff Sergeant Montis immeasurable courage and uncommon valor are in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 3rd Squadron, 71st Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, and the United States Army.
