President Obama Vows At Midtown LGBT Gala To ‘Keep On Fighting’ For Same-Sex Marriage June 23, 2011 8:29 PM
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — President Barack Obama urged his supporters to recapture their enthusiasm from his 2008 campaign even though he says he’s “old news.”
Speaking to high-dollar donors Thursday night, Obama said he may not be the new, fresh candidate anymore, but his vision for the country is still the same as it was in 2008. Obama spoke at a fundraiser at the exclusive restaurant Daniel on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
The dinner fundraiser — which reportedly cost over $35,000 per person — is one of three money events Obama is holding in New York City on Thursday. Money raised goes to the Democratic National Committee and Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign.
The campaign is aiming to raise $60 million in the second quarter, which ends in June.
Separately, the President also spoke at a LGBT fundraiser at Sheraton on Seventh Avenue and West 53rd Street.
Saying he believed the Defense of Marriage Act was “wrong” and “unfair,” the President added his voice to the debate still raging in Albany over a bill allowing same-sex marriage.

I read earlier that he was examining the “gay marriage” issue to see if it would be to his advantage to come out in favor of it tonight. I guess he decided he might get a few points out of it.
Fortunately, I think he’s miscalculated. This won’t do him any good.
Obama angered gays by supporting the repeal of DOMA, then the DOJ filed a brief comparing same sex marriage to incest when the could have remained neutral when DOMA was challenged. Then Obama orders the DOJ to not defend DOMA. Now he says he is evolving on the issueof dame sex marriage while still fully supporting traditional marriage

The LGBT (sounds like a really &h!++y sandwich) community has two options — one is to support a party which by and large doesn’t support gay “marriage”, but also by and large doesn’t support raising their taxes; the other is to support Zero who is clearly lying pretty much all day long every day. Oh, look, he gayed up the military, but by and large the LGBT community only likes the uniforms on the Village People.
It doesn’t matter if he believes the law is fair or not. That isn’t the Presidents authority to say. It is his job to ENFORCE the laws and he has abdicated that.
I hope anyone that debates him rips him to shreds. He is a liar in the first degree.
