Other news sources say officials have confirmed that these appear to be legit. In addition to names, addresses and emails addresses for LEOs, it contains documents detailing how they look for illegal border crossers and other criminals. It also seems to contain names and photos of informants used to penetrate drug cartels, biker gangs and racist groups.

Personally I don’t have a problem with releasing the names and addresses of ‘law enforcement’ types anymore.

The new Wikileaks.

I don’t know how you’d ever find these little faggots, but I wish ST-6 would pay them a visit. Kick ass, take a few names, drop the remains in the sea. Is there a downside?

They’ve already changed the article. That torrent I was complaining about (the 446MB reference in the FR excerpt above) that linked to Pirate Bay is now gone from the article itself and now the author mentions BitTorrent.

Everything I’ve read about them says no. They’re more of a nuisance than anything else using old programs such as WinNuke, trojans Back Orifice, DOS programs and a few others

That right there is a death sentence for someone. The names and addresses of LEO's is enough of a problem but outing informants and undercover is beyond bad. When these hoodlums get caught they all need a long vacation at Gitmo.

If government employees know where we live - and we are the supposed masters for whom they work, one wonders why they are unhappy with their bosses knowing where they live ?

Or are they convinced that they are the new “Ubermenschen”?

These types are going to make hacking like this into a terrorist level crime. They’re going to ruin the low level stuff and turn all of it into a nasty situation.

Might have unanticipated prospective uses.

True, I think they are well aware of the pending risks and that they would be subject to punitive consequences for their complacency.
