Gonna guess this guy had a CZ 52 with surplus ammo. Steel core 7.62 x 25 will trash a DOJ IIIA rated kevlar. Could be. Also, potentially, a FN 5.7.

If I remember correctly, it was an AR (maybe AK) pistol variant chambered in 7.62 x 39 that caused the old Norinco steel core ammo ban.

That AP ammo is tough to snag even through official channels here....
The civy HP ammo is everywhere yet not the AP variant.
