ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Gay marriage will become legal in New York state after the Republican-led state Senate voted to approve it. Advocates are calling it a historic step as New York stands to become the sixth but by far the largest state to legalize same-sex marriage.
Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo lobbied hard for the bill and has promised to sign it.
The Senate vote is viewed as a major gain in an effort to allow gay marriage nationally.

Almost every liberal quote from the MSM contains blasphemy. If FR didn't allow their readers to be exposed to Christian Blasphemy, then we couldn't post any articles from the MSM or discuss them.
We need to know what the enemy is saying. We also need to know when we have enemies in our midst.
I can send his zot worthy screed to your mail if you like but it really serves no purpose. If you want to post it then you can.
The complete destruction of our country is closer every day.
I heard another voice from heaven saying, 'Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities'" (Revelation 18:4,5)

Wow, that photo really says it all.
A real blanket of evil has descended upon the country. I’m really beginning to believe some kind of secession is the only option left.
Mass Murder fantasies are unbecoming.
I read it. I commented on it. My comments were deleted before rsquare was deleted.
He has been deleted now, but i think the comment that got him banned should remain as a warning to other libertine idiots who think that anti-Christian libertarianism is going to be tolerated on a traditional Conservative website.
Yeah I just assumed the moderators were busy. They gotta eat too I suppose. =)
New York currently does not have a referendum/initiative provision in its law - but a bill is moving through the legislature.
When it is passed, as is expected, only 5% of the electorate needs to sign an anti-gay marriage petitionin order to get it on the ballot.
Then, I think it only needs to be passed by a simple majority in order to repeal the law ...
Maybe the moderators will tell us why the softer posts were deleted.
thanks for sharing the link...good to know everyone in New York has not embraced the darkness.
There’s a certain line we should not cross, and at the same time give idiots a forum.
GOD damn gays and their sodomy, rest assured they will burn in hell for this even if they dont burn in america just yet.
jesus is not pleased with new york, more evil in a time of obama evil, sickening. just sickening.
Liberals believe that everyone has a right to his own opinion and then are shocked and outraged to find there is another opinion. W.F. Buckley
I leave that to the mods. If you need a lesson on FR after a screed like that, you don’t belong on FR and neither do the posts being peed on.
gotta love Buckley
I don't believe any provisions in this legislation will survive a court challenge. The people who fell for it are just naive.
I would think that this would require an amendment of the state Constitution.
It is already in the pipeline ...
A New York Initiative and Referendum Amendment may appear on the November 5, 2013 state ballot in New York as an legislatively-referred constitutional amendment. The proposed amendment would allow for voters to enact and amend laws through initiative and referendum.
If it passes, they could then petition for repeal of gay marriage to be put on the next state ballot. 5% of the previous gubernatorial electorate is needed ...
If the repeal is passed in the election - then the current gay marriage law is null and void ...
This just happened recently in Maine ... pro-gay marriage legislation was passed and signed into law. 6 months later it was rejected by referendum in the next election.
“gotta love Buckley”
I miss him!
Hank, thank you for identifying the Republican in your midst (Congressman Joe Walsh). Nice to know that there might be a conservative pulse in the ‘almost ready to go bankrupt’ state of Illinois. How is this possible? How the hell did a guy like him get elected in the land of Rham and Obama? Is the state of Illinois redeemable or are you all merely subjects of the Chicago mob? Excuse me if I don’t ‘kiss the ring’.

The time has long passed for goooberment to get that "high-speed rail" they've been pushing for!
“The people who fell for it are just naive.”
For sure, or else they are one of them (the gay AGENDA people).
Maybe it’s legal, but Cuomo did legislate from the Executive Office. He initiated the gay bill, probably because he feared a vote by NY citizens.
“Governor Cuomo Proposes Marriage Equality Act
Albany, NY (June 14, 2011)
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today submitted a program bill to bring ..”

“Cuomo’s for Homos”....has a sickening ring to it! He’s a friggin’ disgrace as are all NY pols except Peter King. Lemme out of this NY cesspool! I’m leaving here ASAP! But for now, I’m stuck with a ball-and-chain house. :(
Yeah...up next: NAMBLA...just watch.
Think of the wedding and event planners, also. Quite an economic stimulus. I’m sure it will be fabulous.
I knew they would do it after saying the vote was on Wednesday. They purposely tired out the working people that take off work to lobby govt, and when they all went away after the “signal” was sent that the Senate may not vote on it at all....VOILA....like magic. buncha DH’s.
I will never spend another dime in NY state. NYC is fun to visit but I’m done. I refuse to support sodomites. NY will be judged no doubt. This is a perversion.
I don’t know how far back you go, but in this past election Walsh defeated a Dem named Melissa Bean who represented the district for three terms. Before her, though, a true patriot named Phil Crane represented the district for about 30 years.
Crane was so conservative that I don’t think even many here would call him a RINO. Every session of congress he introduced legislation to privatize the post office. He was an early and vocal supporter of Ronald Reagan as well. He even had some tenuous connection with the John Birch Society. That district was really conservative for a very long time.
When I first moved into Palatine as a kid in 1969 it was considered on the outer ring of the Chicago suburbs (about 20 miles away). Over the years, though, more and more Chicagoans moved out and the people who fled the city decades earlier had to move even further North and West to places like Algonquin, McHenry, Island Lake and Cary to flee the consequences of liberalism they hoped they had left behind....so it eventually became a 50/50 district....but there is definitely a conservative pulse that still beats.
Anyway, I moved to East Texas 5 years ago so I’m not too up on Illinois politics any longer except to know that it’s pretty much beyond hope. Glad I left. I miss the restaurants, but that’s about it. I’ll take Texas, no snow and were I live anyway, not too many Democrats.
Hank
I would die happy if I never stepped foot in that state ever again. It’s an expensive cesspool filled with weirdos and freaks and nothing more. Also, if you’re from NY please stay out of Texas. We don’t even want your so-called conservatives who are nothing more than moderate, slimeball Rockefeller RINOs. We might be willing to accept your right-wing extremists.
We aren’t ALL bad, jdsjason.
Some of us have been up here slugging it out for decades, but I’m done. The SECOND my husband retires, we’re outta here. I simply can’t stand it anymore.
BTW...I think you’d actually like having us as neighbors. You’d be surprised at how conservative some of us are. After all, I’ve had to endure EVERY kind of foul and disgusting namecalling you can imagine, from people on the street, to politicians, and — heck, even my H.S. History teacher way back in the day. It’s been combat up here, and I’m worn out.
I want to live in a place where I can drink my drink, smoke a cigarette AND carry a firearm in peace — and all at the same time, too! I want to live in a place that values people who mind their own business most of the time, but who would rush to your aid if you needed help, or who’d pop over to the house to have a cup of coffee just because. I want to live in a place where I don’t have to try to explain to my kids what those two guys are doing KISSING in the park. Heck, I want to live in a place that doesn’t even HAVE a park because you’ve already got acres and acres of land on which to play.
Yep, that’s what I want. And maybe one day I’ll get it, too.
Regards,
I am also worried about the exact nature of the religious exemptions.
. . .
Doesn’t matter what the religious exemptions are.
The homosexual lobby still won’t be happy and they’ll be targeting churches that refuse to perform the marriages.
Because it’s painted as a civil rights issue, I can guarantee you that non-participating churches can look forward to having their tax-exempt status challenged at the very least.
You believe 9/11 was an act of God?
Just aweful. I won’t be visiting New York any time soon.
What we need to do as REAL conservatives is to completely take over states we have strong majorities in like TX, MS, AL, LA, FL, GA, SC, NC, TN, KY....it will require the few real conservatives in places like NY, MA, VT, ME, NH, etc... to relocate to the more desirable places where, we can live free. Make the places we control undesirable and inhospitable to those who don’t believe in free markets, limited government, open carry, God, etc...
If we all lived in one region we can control the national agenda and if we so desire break away en mass to establish a REAL Conservative Country as envisioned by the Founding Fathers.
Our strength is in our numbers and right now to many of us are spread out over this once great numbers making us weak, we need to concentrate our numbers to make us stronger and an unstoppable force.
This is an abomination. I hope they all rot in hell in their promoted daisy chain. A civil right? Give me a break. What is next, someone has a “civil right” to procreate so they abolish all rape laws??
Between the phenomenal taxes, outrageous real estate prices and never ending line of liberal, psychopathic politicians looking for ways to take even more money from the electorate, why are there any conservatives still in NY?
I'm afraid out so-called light is now a flicker. The “church” started down the road of compromise a long time ago.
The bible is quite clear on women preaching in the church...compromise. The bible is quite clear on divorce and remarriage except for a very narrow set of circumstances....compromise. The bible is quite clear on fornication and adultery, yet our Sunday services are filled with people living together without being called to repentance...compromise. Our churches are filled with pregnant single women who are given church-sponsored baby showers with no one hanging their heads in shame....compromise. The only question left is how long before every denomination caves and compromises on the latest politically correct social abomination? Of course, it will be done in the name of love and not being judgmental.
I suppose the AP would call it a step backwards, if New York tabled the bill?
“Im finished with political affiliations. Im finished with popular culture. Im finished with the idea that this country stands for anything anymore. “
Fight or flee?
YES THEY DO!
Lots of nice photos of big fires on this thread, separated by a lot of tsk-tsk-tsk. Not one photo of a single person with a bucket of water.
New York, a wretched hive of scum and villainy
“And in the end, when each one of us is called before God to account for our actions, may we all be able to say we fought the good fight and were never ashamed to proclaim that Christ is Lord.”
Are you fighting? Congratulations. 99.99% don’t do ____.
you are absolutely correct. I trace it back to the 1950s, where I remember the adults saying within the meeting the question, Do we compromise? Of course compromise means giving in to the other side. The church gave in, and has been giving in ever since. The reason was, turn the other cheek. I believe the church's cheeks are quite bloodied from giving in, in this, the past to the present. coffin <---> nail, and the weight of the stone grows. Eventually God rolled the stone away. God will remove the nails and the stone when God decides, and man / woman will suffer for their compromises. God rules, man / woman cannot stand up to God, for God rules. What is to come, will come, when God causes it to come. For God is God of All.
The problem of the cartoon is this: Everyone who plays by their own rules will cause confusion for everyone else because no one will know what rules to play by. Eventually, there has to be SOME rules to follow to play if people or children are going to play. If society doesn’t follow God’s rules, then we can expect more and more perversion.
Either the New York GOP will be radically changed by the next election cycle or it will be dead.
