ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Gay marriage will become legal in New York state after the Republican-led state Senate voted to approve it. Advocates are calling it a historic step as New York stands to become the sixth but by far the largest state to legalize same-sex marriage.

Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo lobbied hard for the bill and has promised to sign it.

The Senate vote is viewed as a major gain in an effort to allow gay marriage nationally.

My home town is just about 4 minutes from the NY state border. I also lived in Ny state for a couple years. Going home also means traveling over the border to visit....that is not going to be now..nope..won’t do it.

Well this thread took a decidedly bizarre turn.

How so, I haven't been able to keep up with the 500+ posts; you mean all the attacks by trolls?

Perhaps you could state your points more clearly.

I don’t know if you are talking about demonization factors or what . . .

Lust . . . of whatever levels toward whatever objects has to register on the brain of the individual as well as on the lymbic system to have any serious influence.

I could easily agree that homosexual lust appears to be of above average intensity if one is talking about such individuals as a group compared to other individuals in groups lusting after other objects.

I’m not sure what that says or means.

Individuals within those groups would be on a continuum—of below average to above average in the typical bell curve on those factors.

Homosexuals a standard deviation below average in those ‘burning lust’ factors would probably experience LESS of such intense burning than someone who was one standard deviaion above average on lusting after chocolate ice cream.

Is it MORE likely that there would be MORE of a demonic tweak to such burning with homosexual lusting than with lusting after chocolate ice cream? Perhaps. Though I’ve known some ice cream lusters who might well argue the point.

I didn’t mention anything demonic Quix. So I don’t know how that has much if anything to do with this as these people do very well fueling thier own fire without any help. Most are pretty much fried in their thinking once this takes hold.

Again we see that evidenced from the Sentor who spoke out stumbling over his own tongue and gibber jabbering about nothing at all, as he attempted to explain what passing the bill ment to him. He was just plain old mush minded.

I do believe fully that the acts they practice does and will have impact on their brains as it does on the rest of their body. It would be difficult for anyone to convince me that their brain matter isn’t affected by poking their thing a lings where the body is used for “sewage” disposal and spreading that stuff throughout...with all the breakage etc. that stuff gets into the bloodstream.

“The life of the body is in the blood” comes to mind. One simply cannot do those things without it affecting the entire body..as well as the brain.

Certainly Scripture talks about such being given over to a depraved mind etc.

And, evidently, more so than other sins.

Nevertheless, all sin, to some degree depraves the mind.

...more so than other sins.

I think that because God was specific about this particular sin, naming it clearly ...and all which is written of it, it has devastating consequences for those who practice as well as those around them and society as a whole.

It is literally a dead ended deal and offers nothing what so ever to society...nor to the individual. Too many do not realize the vileness of it and it's destructive path. The fact God gives them over to a depraved mind says volumes. Though all sin has it's consequences some are just so endless in their impact.

Excellent summation, DBeers. Here is one of my favorite Old Testament psalms on the subject:

Proverbs 5: A Warning Against Adultery

1 My son, pay attention to my wisdom,
turn your ear to my words of insight,
2 that you may maintain discretion
and your lips may preserve knowledge...

15 Drink water from your own cistern,
running water from your own well.
16 Should your springs overflow in the streets,
your streams of water in the public squares?
17 Let them be yours alone,
never to be shared with strangers.
18 May your fountain be blessed,
and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth....

21 For your ways are in full view of the LORD,
and he examines all your paths.
22 The evil deeds of the wicked ensnare them;
the cords of their sins hold them fast.
23 For lack of discipline they will die,
led astray by their own great folly.

Primary the creeps who voted for this awful bill. They will pay at the polls - and in the next life also.

Thank you.

How true the proverb. I think it no coincidence that Washington DC is a homosexual mecca. Corruption breeds corruption.

I noted that C of C since the first comment I read. He’s not only a troll but he’s an ahem hole. Nasty, very nasty. Doesn’t deserve to be a member her. Never saw one non-leftist snarky garbage comment.
