Obama: Advanced manufacturing can boost jobs (Obama wants more "Lawn Mowing" Robots)
yahoo ^ | 6/25/2011 | JIM KUHNHNEN

Posted on 06/25/2011 5:37:07 AM PDT by tobyhill

President Barack Obama says technological innovations such as robots can help pump jobs into the economy and spur growth in clean energy and advanced manufacturing.

In his radio and Internet address Saturday, the president echoed a plan he unveiled Friday in Pittsburgh to join the federal government, universities and corporations and re-ignite American manufacturing with an emphasis on cutting-edge research and new technologies.

"Their mission is to come up with a way to get ideas from the drawing board to the manufacturing floor to the marketplace as swiftly as possible, which will help create quality jobs, and make our businesses more competitive," Obama said in his address, which was taped Friday during his visit to Carnegie Mellon University, where he saw a display of mini-robots that explore water and sewer pipes.

He also marveled at robots that can defuse a bomb, mow a lawn, even scrape old paint.

With growing interest from the military, businesses and consumers, the Carnegie Mellon Robotics Institute has more than 500 technical experts and a $65 million annual budget.

So you and your family decide to build a new house. You pick the lot, have a house designed andhave a contractor who begins working. But your teenage son wants to build a spaceship in the back yard. How about getting the fundamentals down first before reaching for the stars? Because he doesn’t have a clue about fundamentals and doesn’t care whether anyone else does either. This is what you get at the top when you hire someone with no practical experience with American culture and no clue about history beyond slavery or our fight against communism.

What a jerk. He got ridiculed for his idiotic remarks about ATMs so now he’s trying to take the opposite approach.

One of the problems with Obama is not only that he’s evil and wants to destroy our country, but that he’s STOOOPID.

There are plenty of AAs out there more than capable of running the country.

Herman Cain is a good example.

I’ve said it before and I’ve said it again. This is not policy as made in the “faculty lounge” as Rush Limbaugh is so fond of saying. This is policy made in the dorm room between bong hits. In my mind there is no other explanation.

Dude - you know what would be COOOOL? What if, like, we had a bunch of lawn mowing robots man, you know, that could mow the lawns and stuff? That would ROCK, man.

He can't even decide what kind of Luddite he is. The problem with ATMs is that they weren't marketed as “Green”. However, even though they use electricity, I'll betcha they use far less energy and paper per transaction than the traditional bankbook or paper check transaction.

The man is the most profoundly ignorant person ever to serve in the Oval Office. I mean that literally and say it as a matter of fact without rancor or invective.

Will I have to check that my lawn-mowing robot came into this country legally, or will that paperwork be done for me by another robot?

If the Obamatron robots can clean hotel rooms and cook/bus tables as well as mow the lawn, all the Democrat voters he keeps enabling across the border will have no jobs to do.

From the age of 5 to age 10, we learn the foundations of our society. Americans become Americans.

This prick Obama was in Indonesia learning about the Koran.

That's a big problem he can never overcome. His brain is wired for the Middle east. This is why he bows to Islamic dictators. They are his role models. Not George Washington. In simple American terms, he's a god damn f-ing know it all foreign prick.

Its also a big problem in his head. For 20 years he sat in a church spewing hatred for America. He has lectured that Americans have too much.

Now this jack ass wants our economy to grow so that he can get reelected?

Asking Obama to lead America is like asking a pedophile to watch your kids.

"The other thing that happened though, this goes to the point you were just making, is there are some structural issues with our economy where a lot of businesses have learned to become much more efficient with a lot fewer workers," President Obama said about unemployment in an interview with NBC's Ann Curry.

Everyday is a brand new day to our president.

We need to open a new Federal Department of Ingenuity. Maybe Algore could be the first secretary to head it. We could give them a 1 trillion a year to come up with inventions to fuel the green economy(Depression). Also, we could expand Homeland Security to collect fees for molestations at Airports. Some people might like to go through the lines twice to get an extra grope, and we could charge them.

Like Fidel Castro, Obamas brand of Communism may just need a few more years to begin producing. We just need to hang in there and give it a chance.

Maybe if we make statues of Obama? Maybe that would jump start the economy?

Robots can be very useful for many things.

Guy goes into a bar, there’s a robot bartender.

The robot says, “What will you have?” The guy says, “Martini.” The robot brings back the best martini ever and says to the man, “What’s your IQ?” The guy says, “168”. The robot then proceeds to talk about physics, space exploration and medical technology.

The guy leaves, but he is curious, so he goes back into the bar. The robot bartender says,” What will you have?” The guy says, “Martini”. Again, the robot makes a great martini, gives it to the man and says, “What’s your IQ?” The guy says, “100.” The robot then starts to talk about NASCAR, Budweiser and John Deere tractors.

The guy leaves, but finds it very interesting, so he thinks he will try it one more time. He goes back into the bar. The robot says, “What will you have?” The guy says, “Martini”, and the robot brings him another great martini. The robot then says, “What’s your IQ?” The guy says, “Uh, about 50.” The robot leans in real close and says, “So, you people still happy you voted for Obama?”
