Regarding Those Graphic Cigarette Package Pictures
Self | 25 June 2011 | wgflyer

Posted on 06/25/2011 6:44:26 AM PDT by wgflyer

Given that the FDA now would demand graphically unpleasant images be plastered all over cigarette packages perhaps a useful trend could emerge. For example, why not superimpose photos of auto accident victims, the more severe the injury the better, on cell phone telephone bills? Condoms passed out to children at their schools could be adorned with close ups of the various and more nasty symptoms of STDs. Abortion clinics could have wall murals of the dismembered fetus. Homosexual marriage licences could be decorated with various photos of AIDS "victims" in the last sickly throes of life. All journalism texts might be plastered with up close snapshots of Helen Thomas and the words "Warning. This could be you!" Perhaps a snapshot of Rosie on burger bags? I dunno.

Ultimately, the public good would be most greatly served at Democrat convention halls and polling places with huge, wall sized posters of various pimps, hookers, adicts, thugs, thieves, child molesters, corrupt fat cats, terrorists and illegal aliens, all in one group photo with the slogan: One great big unhappy disfunctional family. “I don’t know how old you are, but I can remember when cigarettes were taken out of the pack and put in cigarette cases (much like a woman’s compact)”

Humbly, I remember. And that’s not a bad idea to open a new product like that with modern appeal. I wonder how the government would try to get around that one.

“We already have a law on the books that prohibits federal government agencies from producing propaganda.”

Are you sure? Must’ve been overruled by the supreme court, because Obama still talks.

Have the phone's GPS chip determine if the phone is moving faster than 20 mph, then flash a morgue photo of the latest traffic accident victim on the phone's screen.

Have the speaker play sound of screeching tires, rending metal and broken glass, followed by screams, then sobs, whimpers and a last gasp.

Finally, a cheery voice says, "If you still want to make that call while driving, dial away, dummy!"

"This accident happened on September 28th, 2005 in Riverview FL. A careless driver on a cell phone blazed through a red light at 55 mph and struck my mom's drivers door as she was going 20 mph attempting to make a left turn towards home. Her car was pushed 40 feet and my mom's neck was broken in 2 places. She died instantly. As her daughter, and someone that had to go to the scene to identify her, I can't tell you enough-"

Your suggestion has merit. And heartfelt condolences on the loss of your mother.

What is your point? That one problem can never be addressed without addressing all allegedly similar problems?

Let’s not forget the inclusion of graphic pictures of victims of drunk driving accidents on containers of alchoholic beverages and on the walls inside liquor stores and bars.

Condolences for your loss. Perhaps you suggestion would be okay in the event that the phone's keys are depressed while the vehicle is in motion. On the rare occasions I “use” my phone while driving I only use my bluetooth, and keep any call extremely short. Thus, having my phone blare away at me seems excessive under these conditions.

Can you come up with a single reason why not?

I am very sorry for your loss but if you think “cell phones” are to blame, you are mistaken. People eat, they put on makeup, they socialize, they scream at their kids and many other things that cause accidents. Cells are just the latest thing to blame.

The lady across the street had her daughter killed by someone who ran a light while drinking coffee.

“I don’t know how old you are, but I can remember when cigarettes were taken out of the pack and put in cigarette cases (much like a woman’s compact). Personally, I’m investing in updated versions of the cigarette case, lol. Actually, vintage cases can still be bought on ebay.”

We think alike. I just ordered one.

Sorry Everyone!

Thanks for your kind condolences, but I had copied the quote from the web page containing the photo. That was NOT my mother’s car or accident.

Please accept my apologies for lack of clarification.

Well, I was just having a little fun illustrating the absurdity of liberal solutions for problems that are basically unsolvable so long as people are free enough to make stupid choices yet lack the wisdom to avoid them. The solution, of course: Personal responsibility and a high standard of morality. These two concepts are to liberalism what the wooden stake is to a vampire. Come to think of it...libs and vampires have a lot in common!

Since the liberals in goverment are all for nasty images, we should demand naked pictures of two men sodomozing each other to be placed on every faggot TV show, school program, etc.
