This interview of Bachmann is just vicious!

Yeah, I think it was too. A couple of thoughts on this:

A. It vets her and gets her ready to do battle with the power-commies in all the other "news" organizations.

B. I don't know if she will take advantage of this, but it gives her an opportunity to stick her finger in the eye of liberal propagandists and say: "Oh, I already answered question on FOXNEWS when Chris Wallace asked me. Here's the answer in case you missed it."

The salient feature is that the GOP is in the cultural ascendancy: there are almost NO democrats willing to stick their heads up to be seen in the current climate.

They have screwed, not just the pooch, but the entire AKC, and they know it.

Cheers!

Has Wallace ever asked any MALE candidates if they are flakes?

Probably not, but quite a few come to mind.

Regarding my previous post, #59,

1. Apologies to Rep. Clyburn for misspelling his name.

2. After a few more gulps of morning coffee, I realize my scenario has no chance in hell of happening.

FNS

hmmmm....

Wallace’s questioning of Kyl seems much more mellow and certainly less aggressive than his questioning of Bachmann just minutes earlier.

[A bit of sexism there, Chris?]

I would have smacked him, or walked off the set.

I am still sitting here in shock.

I think Chris ole boy is gonna get in deep doo-doo for this.

It might be kind of considered business as usual on MSNBC but such a thing on Fox is really gonna make people mad. I intend to write Fox a letter myself about it. I am incensed.

That question was so out of bounds it is rediculous. How many gaffes do every other candidate make except the establishmedia covers for their side. Obviously the White House is going to use the not serious charge on any Conservatives.

Pray for America

Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz) says the GOP is creating,
with the DNC, new words in the place of deductions
and TAXES, calling the latter ‘fees’.

How many other new words are the little imps creating?

Maybe Chris Wallace is planning to run for Anthony Weiner’s old seat. Apparently the women in that district like that kind of treatment.

It would have been a great opportunity for her to say “Lots of people make gaffes when speaking live...how about...” and start reciting the ultra-stupid things Obama has said, and keep going until Wallace cut her off.

Well, the "fair and balanced" thing is to ask every candidate, "Are you a flake>"

After a proper setup. For Obama, it will take about 15 minutes to go over all the gaffes.

How are you supposed to answer that question? It was a cheap shot and he knew it. Her response that it was insulting was exactly right, not everbody has a script to read off like Chris does or his beloved obozo.

Yep, another state run media narrative because they think it will decrease her supporters(don’t tell them, it doesn’t);

Bachmann’s had her share of government aid

She slipped up with “President Romney”.

And I didn’t like the Wallace question “any reason why Perry won’t blow you out of the water with tea party conservatives?”

Bachmann really likes her talking points.

Didn’t think she did a particularly good job today, but I like her.

For the past 40 years they have been shifting money out of the SSI fund and dropping it in the general fund to waste on pork barrel projects. Now the fund is underwater and there is no way to return the money so granny is waiting for the bottle to spill its final drops while she has nowhere to stagger. This is a truly evil scenario developed by some truly evil politicians.

No money was taken out of the SSTF and that is not the reason that SS (and Medicare) is going broke.

Here is how SS works. It is a pay as you go system. Revenue is collected thru the payroll tax, benefits paid, and any "surplus" that is left over is placed in the General Fund. The Treasury issues interest bearing, non-market T-bills in the amount of the surplus and puts them into the SSTF, which was established in 1939.

Trust Fund FAQs

SS is going broke because of an aging population that is living longer, fewer workers per retiree, and a system of benefits that increases without connection to revenue collected. The last time the OASDI rate was raised was 1990. 10,000 people a day are retiring and will continue to do so until 2030. By 2030 one in five Americans will be 65 or older, twice what it is today. In 1950, there were 16 workers for every retiree; today there are 3.3; and by 2030 there will be two.

SS is in the red now, i.e., it is paying out more than it is taking in. This requires cashing in the T-bills in the SSTF to pay for the shortfall. The General Fund must come up with the money to redeem them. SS will go permanently in the red in 2016 and the SSTF runs out of T-bills in 2036. The HI trust fund (Medicare Part A) has been cashing in its T-bills since 2008 and will exhaust them in 2024.

But an even bigger problem exists with Medicare Parts B and D. By law, 75% of the expenditures for these programs come from the General Fund with only 25% of the costs coming from premiums. The combined expenditures on Medicare Parts B and D now exceed the costs of Medicare Part A. As a result, the impact on the non-entitlement part of the budget grows year by year. Currently, Medicare claims about 11 percent of federal nonentitlement tax dollars. By 2020, Medicare deficits will claim one in every five federal tax dollars that are not already dedicated to Medicare and Social Security.

SS and Medicare are unsustainable as currently structured. They must be changed. We can't afford them. The Trust Funds are accounting conventions, but they are not the reason these Ponzi schemes are going broke.

If Wallace did it just to create buzz around his “hardhitting interviewing techniques” it just shows him to be a self-centered chauvinistic pig. Perhaps he was looking for bragging rights at the next ‘anchors’ conference/dinner party.

And I will also let the email readers at Fox news know what I think.
