How anything you've EVER said on the internet could be seen by employers as Feds approve firm
Daily Mail ^ | 6/26/11 | Fiona Roberts

The Federal Trade Commission has approved a controversial firm which scours social media sites to check on job applicants. It means anything you've ever said in public on sites including Facebook, Twitter and even Craigslist could be seen by your would-be employer.[Snip]It raises the frightening prospect of any social media posting, even it's years old or was meant as a joke, being used in background checks. Applicants who use online pseudonyms aren't safe, either - the firm uses special software to link those nicknames with real, offline names known to employers.

another thing noticed in netland is seeking the truth is not welcomed in many parts of netland. A truth-seeker, who has an opinion is fair game out here ... imho

I had speakers come to our Middle School a few years ago, to talk to the kids about their jobs. One guy told me that every applicant he got he checked his FB posts.

Might make for interesting discovery during a lawsuit. Subpeona the profiles of every officer and director of the company that refuses to hire you.

Truth

and the web.

It is simple. Totalitarians all must lie to gain power and maintain it. No informed electorate would quietly go under the heel of oppression.

That is where the “MSM” comes in, to practice disinformation to the point that the electorate is so poorly informed they will vote for their own subjection.

I have a book in my library called:

“Rockets Red Glare: when America goes to War” by Richard J. Barnet /Publication Date: 1990

ISBN 10: 0671633767 / 0-671-63376-7

ISBN 13: 9780671633769

In that book is a statement that I found profound.

“To market official truth so at variance with reality or to engineer consent to policies that mock American values government must now so thoroughly misinform the public as to poison the wellspring of Democracy”

Totalitarians = Socialists/Marxists/Fascists/Communists/Dictators

All Lie

All steal

All kill the human spirit and will

None create anything only destroy things.

All are evil....

>>My email addresses don’t have my real name on them.<<

But who pays the bill for the service that provides your access to the internet and where you emails originate from?

There's another bill up for consideration in Congress that provides further protection for music companies. Maybe we should get a friendly Congress-critter to propose an amendment that allows US, the general public, to tap into the Justice Department to go out and do battle with data miners who tap our personal property that's on the net somewhere.

Remember, just because it's on someone else's server, that doesn't mean they own the copyright.

Some government agencies are really not in agreement. Treasury has folks out looking for folks preparing to counterfeit money, so what you do in your own time could be unlawful. You're not, BTW, doing anything like that, right?

I didn't think so.

I don't do that either. No, no, no!

Yep, the “hate crime” lawyers are going to be there to “advise” the firms to take us out the loop.... not that their vision of butt honor is admirable either. I find it weird that firms would vouch for people crapping on their employees by the f@gs once they declare themselves homosexual, but, what do we know, it’s supposed to bring up pride and confidence when someone craps on your employee or when your employee does it like Obama.

That’s a very good point of attack. I hope someone pursues it.

You were fired from a government job for a political post after someone hacked your private profile?

Someone must be hacking all the anti-Socialist posters, and you got caught in a dragnet.

Sounds like grounds for a lawsuit for civil rights violation and wrongful termination. Even Leftist group like ACLU might support you.

I am know at a lot of levels.

My daughter swore that our phones were tapped in OK when she was growing up. I was rabbidly anti-Slick Willie then and outspoken.

My father-in-law spent 40 years in the “weapons” industry. He told me that the FBI knew who I was, what I did for a living and in general about me. I never doubted the accuracy of that.

About 1 month before my father-in-law died I took him out to the plant for his last visit. It was an appreciation meeting for past managers in that industry. He had alzheimer’s and was in a nursing home then. (he was in nursing home less than 3 months before he died)

There is another story that goes with that, but at a later time. He was an old cold warrior, small man but one hell of a guy.
