If the republicans after saying that any tax increase will not be part of negotiations, to then agree to ANY tax increases....then as far as I am concerned they can all go the devil.

Is there no one.. with any leadership qualities who can cut expenses and waist. Why penalize our businesses and the people who are successful?

I’m sick of these people. Sick to death of them.

Let the country go bankrupt... NO NEW TAXES....

The RINOs agree, but will call the new taxes, “fees”.

“The White House has proposed raising about $600 billion in new tax revenue, including ending subsidies to oil and gas companies, an idea that failed in the Senate.”

"Will you walk into my parlor?" said the spider to the fly;
"'Tis the prettiest little parlor that ever you may spy.
The way into my parlor is up a winding stair,
And I have many curious things to show when you are there."

We’ve been here before. Many times.

Taxes will go up. Real spending won’t be cut by a penny. All the “cuts” will be illusory; cuts in future rates of growth, labeled “budget cuts.”

The economy will keep one foot in the grave; maybe go ahead and flop all the way into the casket. Stagflation will worsen, and the media will kvetch about how “the Presidency has gotten too big for just one man.”

GTH Obama and Reid. You will NEVER get the Republican House to go along with tax increases. They are not gonna cut their own throats and take the country down with them!

” (Dems propose $400-600 billion in new taxes) “

The Pubbies (AKA ‘Obama’s herd of pet RINOs’) will hold out for twelve or thirteen dollars worth of ‘draconian’ cuts before knuckling under...

The administration also would tax private equity or hedge fund managers at higher income tax rates instead of lower capital gains rates, change the depreciation formula on corporate jets and limit itemized deductions for wealthy taxpayers. It also has called for repealing a tax benefit for an inventory accounting practice used by many manufacturers.

Yeah, now THAT'LL help the economy and spur on business to hire more workers.

“I hope my Republican colleagues will put the economy ahead of politics,” he said on the Senate floor. “I hope they’ll join us to create jobs and set aside their desire to please the tea party and defeat President Obama.”

Well, by golly gee, Reid. That is exactly what they will be doing when the REFUSE to hike taxes on small businesses! You pathitic, lying little pr*ck. Thanks alot Nevada for hoisting this complete moron on the country for another 6 years!

“President Barack Obama made his first direct foray into the deficit negotiations Monday. He met with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in the Oval Office for about 30 minutes Monday morning ... “

And that 30 minutes is the absolute limit of Obama’s attention span. (Drugs will do that to you).

But he said the only way to achieve that objective would be to include tax increases or the elimination of tax breaks for big companies and wealthy individuals.

So absolutely NOTHING has changed and the ONLY change would be the Republicans capitulating and going for tax increases.

Some pretty serious dickering going on there!

They don’t have to raise taxes. All they need is to have the President put out more regulations. That will automatically raise the cost of everything in the country.

Dear Rats:

You pass your tax increase ideas in the Senate first, and THEN we can talk about how stupid-ass it is to kick the economy in the private parts like this and tell you - No. New. Taxes.

You KNOW if they raise a half-trillion (!!) in taxes, they are going to figure out a way to spend every penny of it.
