If the republicans after saying that any tax increase will not be part of negotiations, to then agree to ANY tax increases....then as far as I am concerned they can all go the devil.

Is there no one.. with any leadership qualities who can cut expenses and waist. Why penalize our businesses and the people who are successful?

I’m sick of these people. Sick to death of them.

Let the country go bankrupt... NO NEW TAXES....

The Obama administration is the one who has dug the hole.
NO DEAL if there are any tax hikes. NO DEAL.

I have seen this movie before. Each side will posture until the last possible minute and then cut a deal that pleases nobody. I already hear some Republicans saying that they may not be against some reform of the tax code. Translation: Wiping out some deductions to supposedly increase revenues. It’s coming......get ready.....learn to love it(sarcasm).

Republicans Will agree to tax increases, they do not have the political will power to play hardball as the dems do...so well.

Elections are coming and none of the republicans dare jeopardize in any way their seat by not negotiating with the dems.

Least wise, that's how it'll be played out during election cycle, “republicans put economy in jeopardy by hard-line stance”.

There all a bunch of weasels.

That's about where I am at as well. Further they will definately be taxing in other areas that affect the man on the street. Gas taxes are always a sure sign they are desperate...and any other tax on the average citizen....which is what they are going to do regardless. They are not going to cut expenses...its just not going to happen enough to make a difference...so let the country fall and we'll pick it up and start over again.

It will pass with a combination of Rats and Rinos. They will eliminate deductions and keep the rates the same. The companies with deductions will pass it along to us in higher prices.

This is reminiscent of the Beer Hall Putsch in 1923 where Hitler and Goering and Goebbels, et alia, were able to assume control for a time by saying that the elected leaders had agreed to grant it to them, when they were really in a backroom being held at gunpoint.
