Wisconsin Recall Elections: 4 different Dates for the Elections
Email from Tea Party Express | June 28, 2011 | Tea Party Express/Vanity Mix

Posted on 06/28/2011 11:32:40 AM PDT by topher

Tea Party Express is saying there are 4 dates for the Recall Elections in Wisconsin. They are:

July 12, 2011
July 19, 2011
August 9, 2011
August 16, 2011

I believe the GOP Senators are up on July 12 and the Democratic Senators are up on July 19.

I am not sure if the July elections are Primary elections and the August are General elections or not.

It is confusing to have four different dates for elections.

Is there some source on who is up on what dates, and what conservatives can do to defeat the liberals in these elections.

I did not see specific info on the elections. Does the state of Wisconsin have some site for these elections?

Pardon the vanity. These recall elections are coming up on us fast. Those of us who are not in Wisconsin would like to help -- even if it is with prayers and emailing friends in Wisconsin.

I did not see any recent Wisconsin threads on this in Freerepublic, and I feel we need to have Freerepublic readers informed about what is going on.

Again, Pardon the vanity based on the Tea Party Express email.

The Tea Party Express Web site has specific information on the 6 Republican candidates being recalled.

But there are also Democratic candidates being recalled.

Why not defeat the Democratic candidates and support the Republicans -- giving Wisconsin liberals a double defeat?

The question remains..

1) Do the Unions own Wisconson?..
2) OR Do the people of Wisconsin own Wisconsin?..

What is wrong with Wisconsin up there? They go through hell to have a supreme court election, then tedious recount, then they all get in a room and act like third graders. Now they’ve run their recall election calendar through a paper shredder.

What’s with these people?

Text of Tea Party Express email on 4 different dates for the Wisconsin Recall elections:

For the past two weeks we here at the Tea Party Express have been closely monitoring the upcoming RECALL elections in Wisconsin that will have huge national importance.

Here's what has transpired - rulings by the elections officials have now resulted in 4 different dates that RECALL elections will take place: July 12th, July 19th, August 9th and August 16th.

That means we will have to be on the airwaves with TV and radio ads during four rounds of elections - and the first one takes place July 12, just a couple of weeks away!

In one week alone the liberal group MoveOn.org raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to RECALL six Republicans. Now we in the Tea Party movement must raise the money to fight back and WIN!

Please, make the most generous contribution you can afford to the Tea Party Express to help us fight to DEFEAT these recall drives. Right now conservatives are being badly outspent by Barack Obama's liberal allies. Friends, it's not even close - we're getting beaten on the money front by a HUGE margin, so we need everyone's help to fight back!

If you can afford a larger contribution of $100, $250, $500, $1,000 or more, then please - do your part to show your support.

Maybe the Republican Governor can help to re-schedule these re-call elections so that there is some sanity to them...

Freerepublic needs to be a source of information for people in Wisconsin. This recall process seems to be confusing from what I can gather from having 4 different dates.

Maybe that is just the nature of the beast in terms of how re-call elections are set up.

Having four different dates might favor the liberals...

Maybe Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann can visit Wisconsin at the time of these elections -- get some media attention to this state at the time of the election...

Like in Minnesota if Wisconsin has enough recounts they will eventually reach the desired count..

I know... I know.. there must be something in the water.. up there..

I found this link from the Appleton Post Cresent:

Appleton Post Cresent: 16 Candidates file Wisconsin Senate Recall Elections.

Apparently the Republicans are forcing the Democrats to have primary elections as well as the Republicans.

So basically the July 12th date is the Republican primary date.

July 19th is the Democratic primary date.

I am not sure why there are two dates in August for the General election, though...

The Republicans are forcing the Democrats to hold primaries by fielding Republicans filing as Democrats in the Democratic primary.

The strategy is to give the Republicans more time before the General Election.

But this seems to be a very confusing state of affairs, regardless.

Yes. The earlier dates are Primaries, and the later dates are General (final) elections. It is confusing and the Dems are counting on that to keep most people home. They are hoping to overturn the Senate with this nonsense. The Republicans MUST NOT allow this.

I am not able to vote because my Senator is not under recall. So, despite 4 elections being scheduled, there is none in my precinct.

Those who have summer homes, or cottages, in other districts could change their registrations to vote there, but they’d have to change them back for the next elections since you would have to swear that you were planning to live at your summer place full time. Everybody can cross over and vote in the other party’s Primary. There are “fake” Dems running in all the elections. I don’t know what would happen if one of the “fake” Dems (people who are really Republicans) actually wins.

I agree. I don’t know why there are 2 dates in Aug. It probably has something to do with the legal requirement of a space between the Primary and the General. Keep in mind that these are individual elections — not statewide. IOW, the date of the election depends on whether it is a Dem, or a Republican who is being recalled. That is probably why there are 2 dates announced for the General elections.

For instance, the district next to mine has a Republican Senator being recalled. That question will not be on the earlier ballot. After they sort out whether the real Dem, or the fake Dem, will stand against the actual Republican Senator, the question on the ballot in Aug. would be whether to recall the sitting Senator and then to elect her, or the winner of the Primary that was held July 12.

Because the Govt. Accountability Board (GAB) did not certify the recall and the nomination signatures for the Dems on time, their elections are to be held a week later. So, in a district north of me, there would be a Dem facing recall and a Republican challenging. There was a Republican kicked off the ballot just yesterday because they disallowed some of his signatures, leaving him 2 short. There is a legal challenge on that too. THere is still a Republican running in that district. I don’t know if he is a bogus candidate, or not. He is a felon and unelectable, I’m told. I suspect more dirty tricks.

I feel so left out! (My Senator was not recalled. They couldn’t get enough signatures against him, but it was not for lack of trying.)

Wisconsin has open primaries. No doubt the general election will see a full court press by both sides to get out the vote.

I wonder if there’s any merit in Republicans heading to the polls in the Dem primaries and voting for the Republican straw-man candidates that have been fielded?

Just a thought...probably a silly one...

It is worth a try. It might get one or two Democrats thrown out, and the have Republican against a Trojan Horse [Republican] Democrat...

Getting one of the Democrats tossed is better than none...

Might be wise to suck some media life from the Unions..
To expose them as the parasitical Vampires they are..
The TpCaucus is even growing in Wisconsin and Minnesota.. and even Michigan..

Here's the official elections site of Wisconsin's Government Accountability Board: http://gab.wi.gov/elections-voting/results

Thanks for helping to publicize this, topher.

(I can't vote in any of 'em, as my Flee Party Senator isn't eligible, having been re-elected in 2010.)

As a resident I can only offer the excuse that alcoholism is endemic, especially in Madtown (Madison).
