EVEN the government is not that stupid.
As one who actually works for the government, I would most emphatically *NOT* wager the family domicile on that...

Inasmuch as he's served honorably in the US military, you're eminently correct, and such citizenship be granted posthaste...

“And if the first one was not filled out, how did anyone even know about it?
/// good point. that is more than a little disturbing...”
I’m thinkin’,,, that maybe they knew they sent him the forms previously? That doesn’t count as “applying” to me, but maybe it does to them??????
Why, except for the war hero part and loving America part, do I feel like I have just read a story of 0bama’s life? Where is the investigation about 0bama’s social security, passport, college application fraud? Based on some of his own admissions he almost had to lie on some of those things.
It’s because he’s black.
I used to think that in these things but I don't so much any more. It is more like random prosecutions to keep the population off balance and fearing their government masters. The bureaucracy is closer and closer to being all powerful and bureaucrats do things like that. They dare you to make a smudge on a Holy Government Form or use the wrong color of ink.
Several years ago, I began filling out an application online to collect NJ sales tax for a business I planned to start. After answering several questions, I had to click something like “Next Page” to continue with the application. When I did, I got an error message stating the site had gone offline for maintenance. The next day there was a family emergency, and I never did start that business. So I never completed the application, and was never given a tax ID number. Several months later I began getting notices from The State demanding I submit quarterly sales tax reports along with any sales tax I collected. I notified them on several occasions that I never completed the application, never opened the business, and was never issued a tax ID. Each time I notified them, they conceded it was an error and I didn’t need to do anything further. After a few weeks or months they’d start sending notices again. This went on for several years, until I moved back the US (I don’t consider NJ part of the US).
So I wonder if he was applying online. That would explain how he could have filled out part of the application without completing it, yet they somehow knew he started filling it out.
Many moons ago kids could come into the US under their parents passports. Now everyone has to have their own passport. It’s quite possible this guy had no clue if he was a citizen or not.
BUMP:
Elisha Dawkins, Iraq War Vet Discovered To Be An Illegal Immigrant, Gets A Deal
http://blogs.miaminewtimes.com/riptide/2011/06/elisha_dawkins_iraq_war_vet_di.php
“According to The New York Times, prosecutors will drop the passport charges if Dawkins agrees to enter a pretrial diversion program and completes a term of probation. The move is rare, but if Dawkins was convicted of a felony it would preclude him from becoming an actual citizen. An attorney in the Miami U.S. Attorney’s Office said that Dawkins’ military service led to the uncommon step.”
Here’s the rub - what box have/haven’t you checked? Because it all comes down to the little detail, even for those who fought for our Country.
They go after a guy with that background, and yet I look at the crowd hanging around across from Home Depot and know darn well they are illegals. Just damn.
Give him citizenship and get a clue, U.S. Gov.
