Dumb poll ... of COURSE a public official (officiating in America to and for Americans) should ... MUST recite an affirmation occasionally.
No.
It’s a clear sign of which side they are on.
It’s a huge tell.
If they refuse, then I'd like to know why and just what country they owe their allegiance to if it's not America.

If they won’t pledge their allegiance to the United States of America, they have no business being a public official. Personally I believe, they have no business living in America.
No, I don't. Perhaps they're just as pissed off as I am about the state of the country these days.
When the Government of the United States starts pledging allegiance to me then I'll pledge allegiance again.
YOU BETCHA!!!
Is there a HELL YES button?
No.
No issue at all. I have an issue with those who try to make others pledge loyalty oaths to prove that they are American enough, though.
The scummiest politician would slither up and recite the pledge. That doesn’t make them better. It just obscures their vile nature.
I am in complete agreement with you.
“America: LOVE her, or LEAVE”

Duh?
I have a problem with any American who refuses to recite the pledge allegiance or put their hand over their heart.
The placing of the hand over the heart during the playing of the National Anthem is a relatively new innovation; in my youth (spent entirely on military bases) it was unheard of. I don't know how it came into being, but it's completely illogical. One places his hand over his heart during the pledge as a symbol of fidelity to his pledge; such a gesture has no meaning in the context of the Anthem. I was taught by decent people (and not a few of them) to stand respectfully and face the flag during the Anthem, and I refuse to do otherwise.
Yes. I also have problems with people not swearing on a Bible. That will/can get you off Jury Duty here in California.
The Pledge is anti-Tenth-Amendment propaganda written by a socialist.

I wonder why they changed it. /s
Thought I’d check back in with this one, and it seems that decency is losing some ground:
