Next month the Broward County Police Benevolent Association is holding a "Party to Leave the Party" -- an event coordinated with the Supervisor of Elections where police officers and the general public can switch their voter registrations from Republican to Democratic or Independent...So here are the details: On Saturday, July 16, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. behind the PBA headquarters on SW 26th Terrace in Fort Lauderdale, the union will have elections officials standing by to register new voters or switch party registrations for anyone with a valid Florida ID.

They SAY they're Republicans...yeah, right.
You can be sure the Hussein-worshipping South Florida media will be there.
Hey! let’s join the party that encourages judges to release violent criminals because mommy didn’t hug them enough. Let’s join the party that supports cop-killers like Mumia, that supports rap-songs about killing police.
What are they upset about?
Defunding the unions (i.e. not collecting union dues) is defunding the Democrat machine. Go for it, Rick.
Broward county has republicans??? yeah right
If they’re just a bunch of union ninnies anywise, then good riddance to them.
It will be interesting to see what the membership does. I’ve found that the union leadership is frequently at odds with a union’s membership, but who knows anymore.
Public employee unions was not a good idea.
One reason for all the turmoil at the capitol in Madistan was that the police sided with the unions and refused to do anything about controlling the mobs.
Union first...cop second...American patriot if they get around to it...
I certainly don't think there are any pubs reading that paper, except us for research.
Heck, the comment sections looks like a bunch of gang bangers in a graffiti fight on the schoolyard wall.
If the public sector workers don’t like getting their pay cut they are free try try to get a job in the private sector where employers actually expect results. The fact that they see this as a far less attractive option than their current job simply reinforces the fact that they are grossly overpaid compared to the standards in the rest of the economy.
The more they object to pay cuts, the more it proves the justification for those pay cuts.
Used to live in Broward County.
Never again. The place is a craphole....................
So the elections board is at the beck and call of the blue gang union? Must be nice to get taxpayers to foot the bill for your partisan stunts.
Broward County................... LOL, NYC Annex!!
LOL, that was my first reaction too, I figured I'd better read down a bit in case someone thought the same thing.
We ought to arrange for a bunch of Democrats to show up and try to switch to the GOP and see what they do.
So it’s not really the police, it’s the union.
In the winter it’s like living in NYC....................
Because they now have a pension that is fully taxpayer funded. In the future will have to contribute 3% of their own salary into it.
Democrats “switching” to Democrat? I mean, I HIGHLY doubt there are many Republican police officers.
In NYC, police officers already contribute to their pensions but Florida police officers don't think they should contribute anything towards theirs.
where is the GOP?
they should host a counter party where rank and file do the opposit.
BTW how many will be miami cops who live in broward?
They are upset because the eeeeeeevilllll Gov. Rick Scott signed a bill forcing them to pay 3%, that's THREE-PerCent, Tres Percento, to their pension fund.
And now, that Cad, that Bounder, that Scum, that Nefarious Nudnik of a Governor who is beholden to special interests that line his pockets, that unmitigated conservative disaster of a *shudder* businessman who dared speak out against Hillary-Care when it was the "cause du jour of the Clinton administration, this knave who would force poor, defenseless welfare recipients to pass drug tests in order to receive benefits, this repulsive Republican will be, just to top things off, laying off 1600 state employees!!!!!
By the way, I hear that the number of Republicans in Broward County only slightly outnumber the total year-round, human residents of the Everglades.
Do I really need the "/sarcasm" tag?
So the UNION just happens to have elections officials hanging out at their HQ, eh?
In addition to the fact he is a republican, the unions are upset with the governor for two major reasons:
1 - The governor promoted and signed a budget that requires public employees to begin contributing three percent of their salary to help finance their retirement plans (previously they contributed zero).
2 - The Governor turned down federal seed money to start construction of a low speed rail system from the Florida west coast to Orlando.
The federal seed money was only a small fraction of what the project would have cost to build and operate. The remainder of the construction cost and the annual shortfall in operating revenue would have required new state and/or local taxes.
The governor said he would only agree to the project if backers could develope a business plan for a self supporting rail system that would not require an increase in taxes.
Of course they could not do so, even using Pelosi style bogus bookkeeping and inflated projections of ridership and revenue.
But the project would have created a lot of union jobs.
So the unions are rebel-rousing all over the state in an effort to poison voters against the Republican governor. In so doing their big hope is that they can swing voters against republicans in the 2012 presidebntial election.
I guess they're thinking about making them actually work, huh?
Born and Raised in Lauderdale.
Left 15 years ago and have never been back.
I like it......LOL..........:)
Free DoNut shortage.
Wouldn’t it be great to see Republicans getting assertive for a change, kicking butt and taking names.
Since the media enjoys lambasting him in every issue of nearly every state paper, Scott goes Reagan one better at getting past the media and Dems, and phones the people directly.
That’s great N. Theknow. Hub and I were talking today and we need a candidate just like that. One that will not be afraid to take it to BO and the Demonrats and point out how they’re all in agreement to destroy this country. To hell with civility and they should also point out the left-leaning, corrupt media we have in this country that will demonize Conservatives and cover up for Demonrats! This HAS to be a “gloves off” campaign. The survival of our country depends on it.
Funny - I thought they already were (dhimmicrats)...
I'd prefer if such selfish babies weren't even on the force.
A Republican is a Democrat whose been mugged.
A Democrat is a Republican whose just lost his gubbermint job.
That's like saying the problem isn't government workers, it's the SEIU.
Cops will grow to love the party that panders, lies, and often breaks the law (see: Chicago for " dem's criminal of the month)... Good luck guys, you'll need it.
This is the reason why we, as a nation should be reducing the numbers we have in law enforcement, while at the same time, providing citizens with true Second Amendment rights. The cops have devolved into a group of unionized thugs who get to carry weapons and indiscriminately use them on the populace at their whim. Remember, when seconds count, the cops are only minutes away (that is, if they are not at the doughnut shop). Law enforcement used to be a dignified, noble profession, but not any more.
Exactly so, brother.
Screw the cops. There aren’t enough of them to make a difference anyway. Know your enemy. The cops only care about their paycheck. Cops from years past cared about honor and integrity. Todays cops are union thugs.
My wife and I live in Broward County since 1983, so hush up!!!
BTW, you’re half right because we are Conservatives, and also Proofers, hmmm!!!
What happens when the police are corrupt?
Yes, I remember, and tried to get us voting for Scott’s opponents, LOL
“BTW, youre half right because we are Conservatives, and also Proofers, hmmm!!!”
I’m so sorry, when I first read that I thought it said ‘Poofers’. :) I mean it is Broward County.
But seriously folks, there are some good conservatives down there. I doubt many work in the Sheriffs dept because of their history for supporting liberal causes.
