John Wayne's Parents Lived in Waterloo, Iowa
American Spectator ^ | 6.29.11 @ 4:50PM | By Jeffrey Lord

Michele Bachmann says "John Wayne was from Waterloo, Iowa" and the media goes nuts. Ohhhhhhhh what an idiot, she confused John Wayne with John Wayne Gacy the serial killer. Ha ha ha.

Now comes word that… yes indeed… Clyde Morrison and his blushing bride Molly got married in…. Waterloo, Iowa. And settled there.

Later moving to Winterset, Iowa. Where they had their bouncing baby boy ...Who grew up to become -- yes indeed -- John Wayne.

Not John Wayne Gacy.

You know, I think the You Tube commentary nailed it. Someone in the campaign googled Waterloo and came up with John Wayne. In other words, it was a planned line. It was sloppy for no one in the campaign to catch the mistake.

Every candidate is going to make mistakes. How the candidate deals with their mistakes determines if it's a big story or a one day event. I should have prefaced these rules only apply to Republicans, as I'm still waiting for Katie or Joe to explain FDR going on TV in 1930.

You are correct. She has created doubt in every person’s mind except a few women who like her. My wife taught me years ago how women will trash another decent looking female like Palin. Now Bachman is a decent looker, too.

Please get off a woman running now for Pres. Try Bachman for VP.

You'd think a person going back to her hometown to announce her Presidential campaign might have encountered such historical details during the course of having lived there, too. Made her sound like an interloper, misattributing something that likely most native Iowans know.

Issue 6) Michele Bachmann wrote several letters to Bush adm in
2007 advocating a presidential pardon for Frank Vennes
who was a large donor to her , Norm Coleman and Tim Pawlenty.
Vennes pleaded guilty and no contest to federal charges of money
laundering, cocaine and firearms trafficking in 1987 and has recently been
indicted on a ponzi scheme.

John Wayne Gacy is from Chicago, Ill. NOT IOWA

If you google both John Waynes you will find John Wayne's biography first then you will find John Wayne Gacy right under his. Gacy visited Waterloo for a few months and lived there in that short period. That was it. So the main stream media no doubt google the info. on John Wayne to try and catch any mistakes that Bachman may have made and saw that John Wayne was born in a town a couple hours away from where Bachman had indicated. By chance the main stream media also noticed that John Wayne Gacy had moved to the town of Waterloo later in his life and lived there for a short period. So they try and implicate that Bachman confused the two John Waynes. I bet Bachman never knew that John Wayne Gacy even lived in Waterloo because he did not commit any murders until later in his life.

Since John Wayne’s parents were married at Waterloo is it possible that he was conceived there prior to them leaving? If that was the case and since life begins at conception then I would say that he was alive in Waterloo. Therefore one could say he was from Waterloo.

So she is the uniter.

Where is the proof? Getting a bunch of foster children to get along doesn't count.

I heard that one day, John Wayne’s second cousin ate lunch in De Moines.

And Look At The Soil Around De Moines!

Obama got his own daughter’s age wrong?

My husband couldn't tell you all our kids' current ages accurately, nor their middle names or birthdays. I think it's a Male Thing.

This age error is bigger than most since she WILL BE a TEEN in a few days.

Maybe say something more like...In a few days, my daughter will become a teen...a major stepping stone to becoming an adult.

So it is a big boo boo. And a huge insult to his daughter. Almost as big as his snitching that she was having trouble with school.

What a crappy dad. Why not give up golf on Sundays and be with the girls?? Work in the garden with Moochelle. Walk the dog. BE A FATHER!!!

She said it’s because libertarians, conservatives, independents and democrats all came up to her and said, ‘I’m for you.’ Perhaps. But that’s a pretty big stretch to say you’re a uniter. Would have been more appropriate to say she has a message that resonates and attracts many different people.

But according to her, her supporters resonate with her message or something like that.

She also said DeMint would be a great VP. I wonder if she would have said that if she weren’t in SC?

I’m glad I missed her on Hannity. She is anything but a uniter. She created a splinter group in Congress called the Tea Party Caucus. I guess they are more pure than other Republicans; that’s the only message I get from it.

However, she did “unite” with Dennis Kucinich on his meaningless “withdraw the troops” from Libya resolution.

Yes, she unites with every political stripe but Republican and now she wants to be the GOP candidate...?? I find that ironic.
