It’s an expression of religious freedom. The Jews simply circumsized the shaft.
Why not use a thermite device with a timer to allow the good guys to get far away before the water starts to boil and draw attention to that area? How else do you suppose these illiterates figured out something wasn’t quite right?

How large is the Juliano ship that had its prop shaft cut?
If it’s large its a has a slow prop rpm of only about 120 rpm,
Two that they’ve discovered. ;)
They are chipping away at the evildoer’s assets, little by little; keeping them guessing, wondering what will happen next; creating delay, delay, delay, holding satan’s followers at bay (literally). Godspeed Israel, may G-d bless you now and forever.
I’m so sorry about your son — I can’t imagine what it’s like for you without him. God bless you and your family. RIP Karl Linn, we’ll see you again someday, my friend.
This is a cryin’ shame!
Thanks, for this and for all the other information people provided in response to my question. I see those two possibilities, but I think if the team that did this had access to the propeller shaft and were intending to sink it rather than immobilize it they’d have chosen something more guaranteed to do that.
I'm no squid, bubblehead or naval engineer, but I have been to Israel and do know some of the personnel from the Shayetet 13 naval commando unit of the Israeli Navy, who have a real practical approach to a lot of the things that affect their missions and employment, including their choice of small arms.
Accordingly, I real strongly suspect that had they really wanted to put some of the pro-terrorist fleet out of business, it'd be on the bottom of whatever saltwater pond it was located, much like the former vessel Raiunbow Warrior, now on the bottom of Matauri Bay in the Cavalli Islands, New Zealand.
If they wanted em dead they’d be dead.... Agree.
But they are far from done.
This warning was .... Something they will ignore or exploit.
Wouldn’t suprise me if Hamas did this for the propaganda value.
