Maryland citizens – outraged by the disgraceful passage of the ‘Dream Act’ in-state tuition bill for illegal aliens – rose up and delivered a blow against Gov. Martin O’Malley’s sanctuary state agenda. Needing 56,000 signatures to block the act from taking effect on July 1st, opponents got well over 100,000 signatures! State elections officials say they have certified most of the nearly 56,000 needed to suspend the law and send it to a statewide referendum in November 2012. The law had been scheduled to take effect Friday, but it has been suspended while officials await a final tally on the signatures.
As a result the law is barred from taking effect through at least Jan 1, 2013. Bravo Maryland patriots! Thank you Neil Parrott and MDPetitions.com, Del. Pat McDonough, Jeff Werner and others for their fantastic leadership and unprecedented achievement. And thank you also to the nearly 22,000 Stand With Arizona Facebook members from MD for helping to make this happen. We sent out 14 updates over the past 3 months to spur action, and you all responded in FORCE, just as you did last fall with 260,000 phone calls to help stop Dicky Durbin’s ‘DREAM’ nightmare.
UPDATE: The ACLU and La Raza group CASA de Maryland are acting like the sore losers they always are when their corruptocrats or Judges on their payroll fail to stop the will of the People, and are now challenging the petitions:

Nope. Sorry. Most came from the other counties. Fact is, if you take out Montgomery, Prince Georges, and Baltimore City, Maryland is extremely conservative. We have many counties that don’t have a single elected democrat in office. Most of the signatures came from counties like Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick, and the eastern shore.
These users will do or say anything to keep sucking up benefits-----riding the US gravy train is addictive.
Notice the irony here-------these criminals consider the United States an invader state---a foreign power that has been imposed on Third World hellholes. They arrogantly refuse to refer to the US by its legal name. The US is known by Mexicans as el Norte, (“the North”), el Otro Lado (“the Other Side”), or Gringolandia (the “Anglo Entity”).
Yet the freeloaders have little or no compunction in using American history to sate their greed.
By their very presence, illegals evince an utter contempt for America, Americans and our sacrosanct rule of law which uniquely defines the American way of life.
We do not need, nor do we want on US soil, those who are all too willing to destroy Western civilization, and our democracy, for their own self-serving ends.
Those duped by the "here for a better life" scam need to get real. Illegals only look like they're mowing loans, pumping gas, or flipping hamburgers.......the main occupation of these hyphenated-separatists is creating chaos to divert attention from the Third World they are building on US soil.

The areas you mention are those responsible for putting the turkeys who voted for this in office.
I believe most of the petitioners were from Southern, Eastern, and Western Maryland.
Don’t leave out St. Mary’s and Calvert.
Only in Baltimore City, Monkey County, PG County and parts of Balt/AA Co's....the rest of the State is Red.
It is boiling and contrary to what some are saying middle class AA’s here in Montgomery Co. are really ticked off about the so called Dream Act as well as the sanctuary attitude.

Why I won’t vote for any politician that even SMELLS like amnesty.
With the challenge, I have no doubt that all 100,000 signatures will be needed. The level of scrutiny will far surpass, say, the votes on an Alaskan write-in for the Congress...
