I am a big fan of Cortez. In junior high my daughter was given an assignment to write about their favorite Mexican in historu. I convinced her to write about Cortez. She asked me why and I convinced her that conquering the Aztec empire with a few hundred Spaniards was an incredible achievement. My daughter was feeling bad about what happened to the Aztecs until I explained the ritual sacrifices and their brutal rule.

Judging from her name I would say the victim was also Mexican. The lesson here is that if he had stayed in Mexico to rape and murder this girl he would not be executed. By killing her here he lost that protection of Mexican law. Texas takes murder much more seriously than Mexico... His choice... His mistake... ADIOS M'F’er!
