The hotel maid who claims former IMF boss Dominique Strauss-Kahn raped her has been accused of working as a prostitute.

Allegations have emerged that the 32-year-old cleaner was was taking extra money from male guests at the hotel for sex.

'There is information... of her getting extraordinary tips, if you know what I mean. And it's not for bringing extra f**king towels,' a source close to the defence investigation told the New York Post.

The woman also had 'a lot of her expenses – hair braiding, salon expenses – paid for by men not related to her,' the source added.

As Strauss-Kahn was yesterday sensationally released from house arrest and had his security ankle tag removed, it emerged in a letter to court from Assistant District Attorney Joan Illuzzi-Orbon that the woman:

It may well be true, given that DSK is released on his own cognisance it probably is true, but on the other hand it was expected that the defence would throw this kind of dirt around, whether true or not.

Let us wait and see until the trial finishes.

If this woman isn’t an American citizen, and she is engaging in both prostitution and international intrigue tying up the court system with her accusations against a powerful figure, isn’t she the very definition of an undesirable alien?

Even if she has permanent residency, can’t she be deported for this behavior?

I’m hopeful, yes, that she will end up deported if she is proven to be lying, rather than be able to stay here in our posh jail system. Much better by far really.

It says he didn’t get his passport back, although he was released on his own recognizance. I hadn’t seen that reported elsewhere.

Unless he gets it back fairly soon—presumably if the prosecutors decide to withdraw all charges against him—that would be an impediment to his running in the French elections.

This is interesting and all, but are they just going to toss out the rape case?

Prostitutes and manipulative illegal aliens can’t be raped?

Another Twana Brawley and Duke non-assualt, non-rape case. This woman ought to get 20 years.

I was thinking along the lines of Kobe Bryant.

When this story broke, I recall hearing she was a “devout Muslim”. A pox on both their houses.

You decent naive soul. She will make millions in book deals, maybe even a movie. Later she will be elected to the U.S. Congress and maybe President. Then filled with honors she will retire with a $100,000,000 per year pension paid for by the taxpayer and filled with the highest honors will die of old age on her $250,000,000 estate in the Colorado Rockies. Such is today’s fate of of those who used to be considered foul and vice ridden.

She’s a prostitute? Didn’t realize she was a Democrat.

Yes, it seems very similar to Kobe Bryant - other than the initial consent was probably conditional upon payment in this case.

If you pay for vaginal sex, and go where you were not invited - resulting in blood on the sheets and floor - that is still rape.

Even if she was paid for vaginal sex and thus a prostitute.

Yes, they can and are, but it does not make a false allegation any more legitimate. Too much is now coming out about this woman and if you were DSK, wouldn’t you use all your resources to defend yourself? Remember the Duke University students? Rich whites are a favorite target.

Three scenarios

1. She is a liar/slut trying to blackmail
2. He is a pig who treats women like chattle
3. This is a conspiracy theory to remove him from the IMF.

I think the trial should proceed anyway. If her background is relevant, so is his - he has a pattern of doing exactly the kinds of things she accused him of, relying on his position to get away with it. All that came out with this.

Her co-workers who found her directly after the incident would have something to say. So would those in the NYPD who routinely deal with these kind of crimes and were convinced credible charges should be filed against him.

In answer to your questions: yes; and of course lawyers do what they’re paid to do, and the more you pay them, the more they do.

There was another article yesterday that pretty much lays out the case against this woman and how she set DSK up. We’re talking taped evidence among other things.

The only thing the article yesterday didn’t go into was how they have significant amounts of money being deposited into this woman’s bank accounts (recall she’s on the dole). Now with the accusation popping up that she’s a whore, well, now the other large amounts of cash. Even caught her lawyer off-guard.

The only question I have is whether she’ll be prosecuted and deported. Probably not.
