Religious tests for particular religions yes.... but they acknowledge that there are Universal Truths set by God for our rights are inalienable because of the existence of God.........belief in God was not considered a particular religion by our Founders....it was necessary for the standard of government and our laws....as Cicero stated....Just Law presupposes a Creator whose universal truth can be discovered by Natural Law......

Some of our Founders were Deists but most were devout Christians—maybe one an Atheist who believed in Universal Truth (absolutes established by the Bible). Postmodernism (Marxism, Progressivism) is incompatible with our Constitution because it denies Natural Law and God’s Laws which is the basis of our individual rights which are inalienable (given by God).......

Founders and our first legal systems did ban atheists from courts because they had to say the oath to testify and if they were atheists, their oath meant nothing and they couldn’t be trusted. That is not a “religious test” that is a oath to validate the belief in inalienable rights that come from God-—not a particular religion.

Our rights are from God and it is the basis of our government....atheists are incompatible with our system of government because they don’t believe in inalienable rights which are only given by the Creator.

The Founders may have overwhelmingly believed in Universal Truths set by God, but the Constitution does not require that government officials hold such a belief, and the text of the No Religious Test clause would in fact prohibit the government from requiring government officials to hold such a belief. Moreover, aside from merely prohibiting religious tests, the Constitution specifically states that government officials must agree to support the Constitution by Oath or Affirmation. An Affirmation (which, as it happens, is often used today by atheists who testify in court) requires no belief in God. If the Founders were intent on requiring a belief in God, why would they allow the use of an Affirmation instead of an Oath.

It may well be a good idea to limit the influence of atheists in government, but a per se prohibition on atheists would clearly violate the plain language of the Constitution.

You are correct that we no longer hold to the intent and meaning of the Constitution....ever since Holmes and the Postmodernists/Marxists/Communists (atheists) infiltrated law schools and the courts.

That is my point....that the meaning and intent of the Constitution and Just Law (equal law) can only exist under Natural Law Theory which presupposes a God. Our rights are inalienable...because they are God-given....that can never be changed unless we fundamentally transform our government and Rule of Law which will no longer be a free Republic.

Zero and the communists have subverted our laws to where private property (income tax) and inalienable rights (abortion) have been been literally destroyed....and it is unconstitutional by every document written by the Founders. We based this government on natural law and God’s laws... the philosophy of Natural Law Theory and Thomas Reid is what defines our legal system.....or rather did, until the 1900’s and the atheists took control over the elite colleges. Freedom of religion—is about curtailing government intrusion and all religions were not condoned or recognized—like “Wicca” and “Atheism”. Twisted thinking (postmodernism) is destroying logic and reason and science....like saying homosexual acts are “good” which is a lie and proven......But we no longer use reason, logic and science....which was the basis of our government and overrode “emotionalism” and it is replaced by irrational postmodernism/atheism.

Ellis Washington writes about this removal of God-given rights (morality) from our Jurisprudence to utilitarianism (atheism worldview) which denies individual rights. My point is....atheism is incompatible with our institution...because they deny God-given rights which is the ONLY method of insuring individual rights to all—equal rights....which is the basis of our legal system.

Laws based on other than absolutes are arbitrary law—political law that gives some power over others...it is always unequal law (like afirmative action, homosexual laws, etc.) It creates unequal law and is unconstitutional no matter what the corrupt judges say. The Constitution was meant to be read by the average Joe and it is not hard to understand....the twisting by the courts and the nonsense put into the legal system doesn’t make it Constitutional....even if a judge says it is.

Just like we had a right to deny citizenship to communists because of incompatible worldview...we used to have a right to deny atheists certain rights and citizenship for the same reason, since their worldview denies the fundamental tenants that are guaranteed in the Constitution.

It is freedom of religion, not government forced atheism/marxism/hedonism. Government needs to get out of religion and go with Natural Law and God’s laws...the Founding principles of our Constitution and our legal system.

We are not free to make up our “own” truth.....there is Universal Truth that Natural Law has made clear for thousands of years......that all the Founders acknowledged and imbedded into our Constitution. We are for INDIVIDUAL rights.....not collective rights....it is We the People who are not to be slaves to a fascist government who dictate what we are allowed to do and say and think. They have no right to be involved in textbooks and censorship....to decide for parents what nonsense children are exposed to. Governments are evil....they always are because they are “force” but, of course, limited government is necessary for societies to function. But that government—to be Just (the word comes from Natural Law Theory) ALL laws must be aligned with Natural Law to be Just.....and equal law. Any other laws are arbitrary positive law which is giving power of a few over others.

I am not for taking “rights” away—those that are defined in our Constitution.....not “rights” that enslave the producers and deny parents the rights to educate their children in their own worldview.

Those are fundamental principles of the USA and those rights are being stripped and we are being forced into slavery to the government and government employees....where we can’t do anything....even educate our own children without bowing to government....

It is evil.....Like I say....I am for the inalienable right to private property and freedom of conscience and freedom of speech and freedom of religion and freedom from government intrusion.

But the above has to be in accordance to Natural Law theory since it is the foundation of our type of government. It is the standard of our country....like a basketball game....you can’t play with conflicting rules—you would get chaos. You have to have one set of rules for the game to not be reduced to chaos. Our set of rules are the Constitution which is founded upon Natural Law.
