Better that a guilty murderer walk free than an innocent person face guilt.

What innocent person are you talking about here again?

God knows what happened to that child. He will ultimately make it right.

Yes, He will: Isaiah 26:21: 21 See, the LORD is coming out of his dwelling to punish the people of the earth for their sins. The earth will disclose the blood shed on it; the earth will conceal its slain no longer.

Yet per God's justice, the city of Orlando may now "owe" a corporate "bill" to pay:

1 If someone is found slain, lying in a field in the land the LORD your God is giving you to possess, and it is not known who the killer was, 2 your elders and judges shall go out and measure the distance from the body to the neighboring towns. 3 Then the elders of the town nearest the body shall take a heifer that has never been worked and has never worn a yoke 4 and lead it down to a valley that has not been plowed or planted and where there is a flowing stream. There in the valley they are to break the heifer’s neck. 5 The Levitical priests shall step forward, for the LORD your God has chosen them to minister and to pronounce blessings in the name of the LORD and to decide all cases of dispute and assault. 6 Then all the elders of the town nearest the body shall wash their hands over the heifer whose neck was broken in the valley, 7 and they shall declare: “Our hands did not shed this blood, nor did our eyes see it done. 8 Accept this atonement for your people Israel, whom you have redeemed, LORD, and do not hold your people guilty of the blood of an innocent person.” Then the bloodshed will be atoned for, 9 and you will have purged from yourselves the guilt of shedding innocent blood, since you have done what is right in the eyes of the LORD. (Deut. 21:1-9)

This is what is known in the Bible as "corporate judgment" or "corporate guilt." We can be held responsible for eternity even for sins we didn't commit -- if we allow justice to flee in our midst.

Now it's possible that the blood of Christ could atone for this; but note, there's no public confession as of yet. And then there's Numbers 35:33 from the Old Testament:

“‘Do not pollute the land where you are. Bloodshed pollutes the land, and atonement cannot be made for the land on which blood has been shed, except by the blood of the one who shed it."

I think many people think it means “Do I feel comfortable convicting?”, rather than, “Is there a plausible alternative to guilt?”

Yup. The exaltation of feelings in our culture has run so high that "feelings" have become the arbiter of truth...from burning bosoms re: religious convictions to people saying they won't follow thru on commitments 'cause they don't "feel" like it.

I had a problem with the forensic evidence.

(Of course, Mr. CSI viewer)

There was enough circumstantial evidence to go for a conviction, but the prosecution decided to focus on weak forensics. Their witnesses were weak. The autopsy was incomplete. The cause of death was uncertain (lack of oxygen, obviously, but how?)

(Well, perhaps next time we could lift a prayer to God to delay decomposure so that there would be more than a skeleton to offer more clues, eh?)

...I don’t know for certain that Caylee was “murdered”. This was not proven to me.

(And that, folks, tells us in a nutshell why there were plenty of jurors 'round to let C.A. off the hook)
