Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) files a cloture motion on Senate bill 1323, a "Sense of the Senate" bill on "Shared Sacrifice." Here are the details of this resolution: SECTION 1. SENSE OF THE SENATE ON SHARED SACRIFICE. (a) Findings- Congress makes the following findings:
(1) The Wall Street Journal reports that median pay for chief financial officers of S&P 500 companies increased 19 percent to $2,900,000 last year.
(2) Over the past 10 years, the median family income has declined by more than $2,500.
(3) Twenty percent of all income earned in the United States is earned by the top 1 percent of individuals.
(4) Over the past quarter century, four-fifths of the income gains accrued to the top 1 percent of individuals. (b) Sense of the Senate – It is the sense of the Senate that any agreement to reduce the budget deficit should require that those earning $1,000,000 or more per year make a more meaningful contribution to the deficit reduction effort.

This is the one I never understood. It really hands me a laugh. WHY educate ANYONE? There is NO WHERE for them to go in this sterile and shallow society.

Surprise! The Reid Senate missed that fact that half of this country pays NO federal income taxes yet expects government benefits AND lots of ‘government investment’ for the money THEY DON'T PAY (see my tagline.)
I also heard a new Obama-ism yesterday. Obama said he wants to ‘cut spending in the tax code’ rather than call it raising taxes.

For a man with a limited vocabulary, you still managed to drive your point home ;-)
Watching the media beat on Republicans for not raising taxes reminds me of how GHWB cut a deal to raise taxes in 1990 (one reason he said he did it was to get the Democrat congress to authorize the Gulf war) and how in 1992 Clinton used his raising taxes against him in commercials and debates while the Democrat congress leaders Foly and Gephart who made the deal disappeared.
Democrats including the Balt Sun in Maryland did the same thing to a RINO governor in Maryland to beat him in the election, they beat on him publically and cornered him into raising taxes, then called him a liar in the campaign for breaking his promise, used it in both 2006 and 2010.
They earn 20% of all income ... yet don't they pay like 80 or 90% of all federal income tax collected?
Well, his constituents keep voting for him, so I guess some people love him.
