A 9-year-old boy was shot in the head early this morning in the backyard of his Roseland neighborhood home on the South Side after he and his father went outside to bring in the family dog chained there, police said.

The boy -- identified by the family as Ivan Burns Jr. -- was in critical condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where family members were gathered this morning.

We had a lengthy conversation yesterday about this subject. Liberals are primarily responsible.

I think Chicago has replaced Detroit as the country's murder capital.

At least Detroit Mayor (and former Pistons all-star) Dave Bing is honest and is working to improve his city. Chicago's mayor is one of the country's most dishonest politicians and hiring a puppet like “Charley” McCarthy as police superintendent certainly doesn't help.

Anyone who chains a dog should not be allowed to own a dog.

Dave Bing is an old School democrat and self made man. In fact he was awarded some type of minority entrepreneur award by Ronald Reagan.

Back in his NBA days they didn’t make big bucks. I think the highest paid year of his career he only made some $27,000. When a Detroit bank turned him down for a loan, he didn’t run to the NAACP, he went to work for the bank and earned the money.

Here’s another where someone was shot in the head

Police late Tuesday searched for a gunman who shot a man in the head while stopped in traffic in the Humboldt Park neighborhood. The wounded man was a passenger in a vehicle stopped at a red light at the intersection of Grand and Sacramento avenues just before 6 a.m., police said.

For the most part I agree. My neighbor has beagles in a kennel but one is kept separate on a chain. However the chain is attached to a zip line so it has plenty of running room with no danger of getting hung up or tangled.

My dogs run free in the fenced yard. I open the dog door in the morning and they're free to run all day long.

Ah, the Deep Blue Cesspool City of Chicago... another gun control success! I’ve lived in my town for 26 years. Gun ownership above 70%. Not one single such shooting. Gee.
