Given how Obama has treated Israel, it would have come as no surprise if this had been intentional. In any case, the initial report was widely denied and dismissed as inaccurate; however, now Morton has confirmed that it was true, and says it was an error. An error that happens to coincide with the sitting president's consistent stance toward Israel, but apparently he can't be this open about it yet.
"U.S. says Israels inclusion on terrorist watch list was a mistake," by Ron Kampeas for the Jewish Telegraph Agency, July 6 (thanks to all who sent this in):
WASHINGTON (JTA) -- Israel was included erroneously on a U.S. Department of Homeland Security terrorist watch list, a U.S. official said.
John Morton, the director of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement division of the department, said Israel's recent appearance on a list compiled by the department's office of the inspector general was a mistake.
"The addition of Israel in the OIGs list of ICE's 'Third-Agency Checks' (TAC) was based on inaccurate information provided to the OIG during the course of its audit," Morton said in a statement sent by e-mail to JTA. "The U.S. does not and never has considered Israel to have links to terrorism, but rather they are a partner in our efforts to combat global terrorism. The United States maintains close intelligence-sharing relationships with Israel in order to address security issues within its own borders and in our mutual pursuit of safety and security around the globe."...
It looks like the internal polling and likely fund raising are showing some weakness for Obama and the Dems.
His Anti-Semetic urgings may just have to be put on hold until after the next election.
Nice they changed their story - sad that it was after they got caught...
I guess we pay billions of dollars to civil servants to get it 360 degrees wrong.?. Why don’t we fire 100% of them and start over?
Um, not to put too fine a point on it, but don’t you mean 180 degrees (i.e. the opposite direction)?
sounds like a trial balloon
With the passive-aggressive imbecile in the White House, you just know that this was not a mistake...
Saw that. Agreed. I feel like a Casey Anthony juror!!!
It was definitely no mistake, in fact quite deliberate. Major Judgement on the way to Washington.
This list is not something a low level staffer does. This was not a mistake by the administration. This was not an error by the administration. This was a lie from this administration at the highest levels.
Thanks Nachum. Yes and no — it was a mistake insofar as Israel doesn’t belong on such a list, but it’s obvious that it was done intentionally.
So when will Hillary or Obama issue a direct public apology to Israel for this “error”??
- Israel was included erroneously on a U.S. Department of Homeland Security terrorist watch list, a U.S. official said.
“Erroneously” my a - - !!! Somebody had to sign off on this list before it went public. Someone, somewhere, had to see Israel on the list - - and made no attempt to either question or remove Israel from the list. Another Obama Admn. LIE!!!
CNS article that occasioned “THE CORRECTION”.

Infantile diplomats, assistant diplomats and other State Department personnel serving overseas in our embassies have long been known for tending to “go native” and to advocate for the nation they are posted too. I can’t imagine the Russians and Chinese allowing this nonsense. Plus State is ultra-liberal and full of gays and lesbians. In fact the Federale government in DC and even Congressional staffers has a very high percentage of gays and lezzies. They love working those jobs and getting domestic partner benefits etc etc etc
Ever notice OBama’s (And the State Department’s, regardless of the administration) mistakes always lean ONE WAY against Israel?
Such a “coincidence.”
We usually give them a promotion and a raise when they get it horribly wrong, it helps their self esteem.
“So when will Hillary or Obama issue a direct public apology to Israel for this error??”
When it gets broader exposure to the public via big media (at least Fox News and more conservative newspapers like the WSJ, Washington Times, etc.) rather than only blogs. And it needs to be in all Jewish media.
Things like this must become such big news to the masses that the evil BHO regime can’t ignore it and are forced to come clean.
