Gov. Mark Dayton, a Democrat, campaigned for office last year promising to raise taxes on high earners, so it was no surprise when he proposed a tax increase on families making more than $150,000 a year to help close a $5 billion budget gap.
In negotiations with the Republican majority in the Legislature, he compromised and reduced the increase to those making $1 million or more, but Republicans are refusing to consider any income tax increase.

So Is Governor Dayton a man of his word?
What about pro-tax extremism - the idea that constantly increasing taxes on “the rich” to punitive levels will bring in more money instead of driving those people completely out of the state (or into retirement) and reducing revenue? Are the media completely oblivious to that real drawback of their hatred toward productive Americans? [Note: I went partially Galt and cut my taxes 90% by cutting my taxable income drastically. The “rich” can afford to do that if government gets too big to be worth supporting.]

Nothing new here with the “anti-tax extremism” being uttered from the NYTs here.... =.=
EARTH TO THE nytIMES - - - THE GOP candidates also made promises last fall - to not increase the taxes on the backs of the productive MN citizens. They also promised to balance the budget, and they did their job as they submitted a balanced budget to MD in May, and he ignored it completely, refusing to negotiate; refusing to accept a few compromises that they made with him; always demanding more from the GOP; and he always continues to want to increase taxes on the “rich”.
Republicans should agree to raise taxes to 50% on all Democrats making more than $45,000.
The New York Times’ homothexual newthroom mutht be thimply outraged by thothe mean Republicanth.
NYTimes definition. A Republican who dares oppose the liberal agenda of higher taxes and more spending.
