I cringe at the thought, mostly because it seems I'm caught inside a spy novel or a horror movie, walking upstairs with the audience yelling, "don't go up there, fool!"...no, I keep walking and climbing.
I am the American public and I'm being held at gunpoint by a president who is a communist/fascist dictator and hates this country with a passion we can't even imagine the depth. Our vanguard? Where are they, who are they? Oh, don't worry, it's folks like Chuck Grassley who is known to say lately that he just realized the 14th admendment gives Obama the ability to raise the debt ceiling to allow us to keep paying on the debt...it doesn't matter that Rush explained in the past two days there is no way we can STOP paying on it and there is no need to "raise it". Are our senators and reps so stupid as to not know this or are the vanguards truly linguini-spined deal makers with the enemy?
Where are our freshman, newly-elected folks? Have they been effectively muzzled or "belt-lined"? I think you know what I mean.
My big question to everyone in Freepland is, what will the citizenry do WHEN Obama "invokes the 14th admendment"? I predict Bray will write about it on Sunday's talk show line up. I predict trial balloons will be uncorked in unison by the MSM and their willing accomplices - oh, wait, I mean the congress who are the commie guests on the shows and their willing acomplices in the MSM will repeat in unison - that the 14th admendment likely gives Obama that authority. Is there really anyone stupid or naive enough to NOT think he'll do this? Look what he's done with the EPA so far...hear from SCOTUS lately...crickets...we have a fascist dictatorship, folks...GM, GE, all poker buddies with Obama.
I’ve always thought he would invoke it ... until recently and the “noise” is, he won’t. But, indeed, it’s merely noise.

The debt ceiling and servicing the debt have nothing to do with each other. What I am wondering is would Obastard deliberately withhold payments to the debt to destroy the economy?
Nothing, we're told all we can do is vote him out in 2012.
His reelection strategy is based upon Repubs starving Grandma, so his “negotiations” are focused upon achieving this perception by the electorate. It is all politics to him, the fate of the country and well being of the people are secondary and inconsequential.

Nothing. They (the government and its corporate stooges) will make (have made??) slaves of us. But, they’ll leave us some goodies like smartphones, 300 channels of TV, McDonalds, etc and we’ll be quiet and take it because as long as we have some comforts and most of us have a job, we won’t be ready to die for freedom, especially the freedom that will required to dig us out of this economic mess we’re in. That freedom will require more sacrifices of comforts than Obama’s communism! At least, in the short term...and that’s all anyone cares about anymore.
Besides, the evil is very well distributed from city and state governments to DC to the federal bureaucracy spread across our land to the CEOs and boardrooms that move our jobs overseas and tell us to borrow money from banks to buy their products so they can take home millions of dollars each year. Who do we fight? Who is our ally? Who can we trust? In the coming battles, there will be a lot of quislings trying to sell their souls to get some of the comforts back. It will be an ugly time requiring Americans to be something they have never had to be before.

What can he invoke? There is enough money to service the debt, other things will have to be cut. To invoke the 14th amendment, and state we have to go into more debt, in order to honor our debt, is luaghable. The 14th amendment actually works to the GOP’s favor. If they have the spine to turn off the spigot, O will have to service the debt, at the expense of other spending - maybe Libya operations will have to stop, maybe the unspent stimulus hits the general fund...just remember this ‘catastrophe’ can’t happen, because the debt will be serviced.
I have no doubt that there will be a public mass backlash and/or a call for the AnointedIdiot’s impeachment. =.=
I don’t think it will make a lot of difference if he does this or not. I think we’re headed for the same tough times regardless of what he does to the currency.

It doesn’t matter if 0bama invokes the 14th Amendment. The 2012 budget needs to be funded starting on October 1st, 2011. So, if 0bama tries going around Congress....he can only do so until October 1st.

The people who matter in this case, bond purchasers, won’t buy them except at fantastic yields.
