“The Sunday Morning Bray”, by Bray!

May the Lord make your LOVE increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. 1 Thes 3:12

It appears everything we have been told are common truths by the liberal establishment are myths so we need to question everything. These are the people who push every agenda to promote control and ownership of their citizens. Whether it is the obvious taxing schemes like Global Warming or the use of ethanol or any of their economic policies, they are all lies to gain more and more control of our lives. These people would be imprisoned rather than re-elected to their seats of power if they were in the private sector for their destructive policies. One of the common held myths we all just accepted is that driving faster lowers your gas mileage when it may not be the case.

Over the weekend I had the opportunity to drive across Oregon and Idaho up the late spring swollen Columbia and Snake rivers. Even though it was a long drive one of the bonuses was to be able to drive over 80 mph through all of Idaho since the speed limit is 75 mph you could cruise past police officers doing 85 and they wouldn’t even look up which was a great time. Since the car had a trip computer you could measure the efficiency of the car driving at the different speeds. The jeep Cherokee has never got more than 15.5 mpg since it was new and what do you know? When I increased the cruise control up to 85 mph the mpg also went up. When the car was on 75 I had the usual 15.5 and when it was put at 85 the car started getting 17.1 mpg!

So after we have been told our entire life that slowing down saves gas just the opposite is true. It only makes sense since the freeways like the one I was driving is built for cars to drive 75 mph it only figures the cars would operate better at those speeds. And of course there could be a lot of factors affecting the mileage but considering the car had never got that kind of mpg it certainly makes you wonder. The second factor was the bonus found in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They actually allow you to buy non ethanol gas so I filled the tank for the first time ever. The mileage went up to 17.7 and the car had more power and ran smoother. The pep in the car was increased and would handle all of the hills without the strain you normally had. So we’re subsidizing a boondoggle that costs more than oil to make so we can get worse gas mileage, really?

Driving across Idaho at 85 in an ethanol free car makes you to question everything you’ve been told is common sense and why? If driving 55 doesn’t save gas which it doesn’t what other popular common knowledge myths have we been sold. Does being thin really make you healthy when there are plenty of studies showing thin people don’t live as long or as healthy as a more normal weight? We have been told vegetarianism is a healthy lifestyle just like homosexuality when both of them take years off your life. We can pretty sure second hand smoke has been blown out of proportion so what about smoking in general? Is it the cancer causing habit or are other factors involved and what about cholesterol and heart disease compared to the side effects of the cholesterol medication. The facts are we don’t know what is truth and what is an agenda driven myth by academics?

Now we need to seriously question whether the common expectations of the US economy faltering if we go past August 2nd and don’t raise the debt ceiling. What makes these economists so knowledgeable when they have the track record they have? Just like driving 85 and getting the exact opposite of what we have been told for 50 years, who says the economy will collapse? Isn’t there a better case to be made that if the Repubs were to dig in and say no way are they going back to the same old big gummit solutions but they are going to be responsible the markets wouldn’t react positively? It appears the markets are reacting positively at the possibility of an agreement that will finally reign in this out of control socialism. We have been told since the beginning of the Obama Meltdown if we don’t pour more money down the DNC rat hole the world would end and we did just that out of fear and manipulation. It is time to set the cruise control at 85 and find out the truth.

We have been lied to about everything from the war on poverty to more money and unions makes for better schools, why is this debt ceiling catastrophe not a myth too? How about the Repubs have some courage….no really; and take a step in the right direction. If that were to happen and the markets not only didn’t collapse but began to recover, what would happen then? There would be fewer economic threats and we would begin to see business start hiring once they got a breath of fresh air knowing there was a light at the end of the Obama tunnel. Then people would begin to feel better about the economy as the stock market began to recover and we could start to question the rest of the common myths taking the chains off our legs one controlling lie at a time.. The people would actually be able to vote for somebody rather than against the other guy.

This is the District of Corruption’s biggest fear that their scare tactics will no longer work and the Country were to realize they don’t need them. This would expose the self appointed experts for the frauds that they are. If America were to become self sufficient from their central planning and were able to not only survive but thrive then they would become irrelevant. Day by day our lives would become more and more real as we began to live our lives in our local towns and counties becoming less tied to our DC massers. We need some leaders willing to set their cruise controls on 85 and see what other common myths we’ve accepted as gospel.

Pray for America

C-Spam was a real trip this morning although they do have a bit better moderator than usual.

Our side has done a miserable job of explaining what is going on with the debt ceiling and the budget and the relationship between the two.

Since we dropped the ball in clearly, concisely explaining what is going on,we need dollar for dollar cuts in the budget vs. increases in the debt ceiling, the dems have stepped up to the plate and thrown out a whole bunch of talking points that everyone else has run with.

Class warfare being the biggest. When will we get our act together. I did send c-spam an e mail doubt they will use it however.

Per the morning headlines, Boehner apparently awoke Obama (he who would not rest until ...) with a light night call to tell The O that they have no budget deal.

==

Fudged unemployment numbers for the week ticks up to 9.2%. Some 2.5 million unemployed were dropped from the count in recent months, making the comparison — unemployed v total work force — give a slightly better number. The UE-6 rate ticked up to over 17%.

Expect government economists and financial advisers to be trying to find other ways to manipulate the data so it will appear more palatable by the general election next fall.

When I increased the cruise control up to 85 mph the mpg also went up. When the car was on 75 I had the usual 15.5 and when it was put at 85 the car started getting 17.1 mpg!

In the late 70s, I had a Ford LTD (big car), when the oil crisis caused the Prez to impose a 55 mph speed limit on all roadways.

At 55 mph, the vehicle drank gas and I would average about 11 mpg. At the old speed limit [70 mph + whatever you could get away with], the vehicle got about 17 mpg.

Those 'big' cars of that era were designed for higher speeds, and were more economical at 70+ than at 55 mph.

That 55 mph imposition was another of those greenie 'but it looked so good on paper' unintended consequences ideas that did the opposite of what it was intended.

Brilliant as usual bray.

I had a 2005 Chevy van that after 60,000 miles got really sluggish.

I read about an additive, think it was 6 ounces of lacquer thinner or acetone don't recall now to every 10 gallons that could be added to the tank that would help older engines.

I did it and got similar results to what bray did.

All of a sudden the engine would really run faster than ever, got great mileage and literally performed great just by using the additive.

We already know that oil/car companies are buying up invention after invention-- carburetors that get over 100 MPG,new fuels, new engines etc etc. to keep off the market and who know what is really available.

Also the no ethanol 90 octane fuel bray referenced is widely used in marine engines to help keep hoses, seals and the rest from decaying so quickly.

Thanks AB,the inventor has been working on it for some time and about 2 months ago the first few vehicles came up for sale.I have not had a chance to try it yet but will soon, cant wait.

You can go as high as 28 feet in the air and as fast as about 25 mph when you fly lower to the surface. It also flies under the water as well. It's coming up on NBC right now.

Hey Bray!

Driving 85 is good fun, I tend to crack the throttle myself occasionally on the way to Northern Maine.

Cars got much better fuel mileage before the Einsteins on the left foisted all these EPA mandates on us via the auto industry. In their day, some full-sized sedans and pickups from the 60s could get mileage in the mid 20 MPGs.

It’s not just the ethanol, with enough electronics and computer power to outfit the Space Shuttle, you would think modern cars would be approaching 100 MPG...BUT NO!

Modern electronic ignition and fuel injection, coupled with highly efficient combustion chamber designs and valve trains can indeed crank big horsepower out of a smaller engine package, and that’s half the battle.

So despite all these technology advancements, why can’t they get better fuel efficiency?

The answer is, once again, the geniuses at the EPA have mandated “mission impossible” on the emissions. You would have thought that, years ago, having achieved virtually total-burn resulting in the combustion by-products of water and CO2, that they would have called it good.

Unfortunately (to them) they would have no more reason to exist, problem solved. Why do you think the environmentalist whackos were claiming CO2, the only remaining exhaust compound causes global warming”?

The oxygen sensor(s) located after your converter report back to the computer the latest results on exhaust gas temperature and content. So now your wallet is feeding not only your highly efficient engine, but also keeping your emission gobbling converter happy.

In other words, the car is working against itself. If the goal was simply maximizing fuel mileage, cars would be getting those incredible MPGs, and emissions be minimal simply by virtue of less fuel being consumed.

The only *crisis* in what you so aptly call the District of Corruption, is a crisis of no conscience. They looted the treasury. Fact. And now THEY are broke. WE aren’t. Yet. So they are stealing our homes, our pensions, our Social Security, you name it. Allowing the price of gas to rise out of sight so they can reap the massive federal taxes on fuel. That is the reason for your 55 miles an hour. They make money off of every gallon of gas you *waste* because of their sneaky rules.
They DO expect the American public to stay stuck on stupid while they blind us with the klieg lights shining off the smoke and mirrors they employ to keep us scared and in chaos.
They are thieves. And what is going on now is no less than a symphony of lies designed to grab even more of what is YOURS, whether it be *user* fees, your 401K, your home, or your first born. They will *negotiate* until they find a way to rob you so it doesn’t LOOK like they are robbing you until you have nothing left to steal.

Remember when the House leadership couldn’t possibly back Bachmann for their conference chair position, despite her claims that she was good at getting media coverage and getting a message out?

No, they had to go with their pal Jeb Hensarling. Just how good a job have he, Boehner, Cantor and Ryan done in getting the message out? Winning the media war with Obama? Framing any of their issues?

It was a business trip but a couple of the other highlights. Saw three bighorn sheep that had just crossed the freeway along the Columbia. Also went out of my way to view the Teton Mountains from the Idaho side at the place Glen Beck had been 2 days earlier, Huntsman Springs which has one of the truly great golf courses.

Lowlight this week, got hit by a pickup on my bicycle and am definitely bruised up. God was watching out for me on that.

Mitchell basically says the $4 Trillion cuts is off the table because Obama insists on massive tax increases with that proposal.

Pelosi (taped) says SS and Medicare are off the table.

Mitchell says Obama put SS and Medicare ON the table.

[Obama and the Congressional Dems are on different pages, apparently.]

Mitchell says ‘incentivizing’ is the way to grow the economy, not increasing taxes, says they are not going to raise taxes in this current economy. Tax reform is long overdue [duh!].

[It does seem Mitchell and Boehner are trying to stick to their guns — no tax increases and major cuts, for the meeting with the WH this evening.]

Mitchell: “Nobody is talking about NOT raising the debt ceiling ...”

[Wha???????????? Harbinger of a debt ceiling increase?]

Whaa...?

Everybody out here in the hinterlands (and on FR) is. I guess to Washingtonians, that means "nobody".

It reminds me of the time Yogi Berra was asked if he went to a certain locally famous night spot, he replied, "Oh, nobody ever goes there any more. It's too crowded!"

Morning AB, All

….as always AB, thank you for doing this thread.

Tonight I attend my first meeting as a duly appointed ED (election district) representative of the Republican party. This is a meeting of all the ED’s in Sussex county under our RD(representative district). The ED is like the voting places and the RD is the overall district as represented by a….well a representative to the state legislature.

Tomorrow night I will attend my first Sussex countywide Republican party meeting as an ED.

I got an email asking me to do it and I said yes. I resigned from my position on the church Finance Council because, well at this point in time I’d rather be an ED and work a little bit in politics.

Sussex county did succeed, God Bless Us all, in overturning the whole pack of jackals who so betrayed us during the Christine O’Donnell election...which was as much about Mike Castle as anything let’s not fool ourselves.

Have no idea what I’m supposed to do but when I find out I’ll tell you. Everyone in the Republican party in the entire state of Delaware (well I know it’s not that big but still….) has been kicked out.

It was one of the most vicious fights folks, dear Lord it was brutal. For while Republicans bow to Obamer and reach across the aisle handily...THEY BEAT AND BITE AND LIE ABOUT THEIR OWN BASE...yes they do.

I admit I wasn’t all that instrumental in the overthrow though, ahem, some might say I was right in the thick of it in that I was the scribe, the rabble-rouser with the keyboard, insert smile here.

Wish me luck and stay tuned because it CAN be done and a whole lot of angry people worked like the dickens to make it happen.

Geithner tells Gregory “that’s a ridiculous chart” when Gregory shows a chart of economic figures on Obama’s inauguration day vs today.

[Yeah, it’s ridiculous, because it shows the truth of how Obama has failed on the economy.]

Gregory asks whether the economy is improving. Geithner sidesteps and talks around, saying ‘the economy is improving’.

Gregory is hitting Geithner pretty hard on the economy this morning.

Geithner responds that ‘people are going back to living withing their means’. [Wha?????????????]

Gregory is being a pit bull this morning at Geithner. [Paint me shocked!]

Geithner blames the economic problems on Congress for not passing legislation fast enough. Recovery is still going to take a long time, caused by a long period of growing economic problems.

McConnel seems to have gotten the message that the Party is in revolt and there is no reason to cave. Bet his phone has been melting.

Now the tax and spend response.

Good Lord...Timmy Geithner is on with LIES...this guy talks about ‘ CRISIS “! ( HEY, TOO GOOOD A CRISIS TOO WASTE, TIMMY?)

How nauseating this man is and to think he got his job being a tax cheat but the son of a political insider. I wish we could blame his fellow college peers that didn’t frag him!

I love this part of her description of the leader we need: “bucking the status quo, fighting the corrupt powers that be”.

Just who other than the governor herself do we have who fits that mold?

Let me guess: They are all going to try and convince the American people the “dooms day clock” is ticking and if the nasty republicans don't vot to raise our (credit cards) debt limit, the entire world will end right before our eyes!

The socialist can go straight to hell with those lies, and had better figure out what they are going to tell their socialist friends they have promised to bail out, i.e. Greece that the check is not in fact in the mail from the American people.

The American people have just stop payment on all the socialist's promised checks and we are not going to pay one more penny to fund anymore socialist welfare programs, communist bailouts, and reelection payoffs, operation fast and furious, buying Mexican gangsters automatic weapons, and kickbacks for the Obumbum administration to get reelected to office!

THE BUCK STOPS RIGHT HERE WITH THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!

GET OVER IT SOCIALIST, WE ARE TAKING BACK OUR COUNTRY NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY, OR TRY AND THREATEN US WITH!

What happened to McCain, Schumer, and the usual Obama suckups?

I have a feeling there are some who don't want to talk about Operation Fast and Furious at this time, in the event that some host asked about the admin's involvement.

Ha! You mean like Harry Reid, John F’n Kerry, or Jay Rockerfeller?

They're on enough.

I'd like to see new guests on the shows. If they could just invite one Congressman per week who has never been on a Sunday show before—to replace the perennials like Biden, McCain, Chuck U. Shumer, Lindsay, Dick Turbin, Washerwoman-Spitz, etc—it would be a vast improvement!

Exactly, and I have made my peace with Michelle for letting her pit bull--Ed Rollins blast Sarah. Michelle did apologize which is good enough for me.

She is the hottest candidate we have right now. Hard to tell what Palin will do. We all hope she runs but time will tell.
