AIDS: Thirty Years Later
AARP The Magazine ^ | July/August 2011 | Michael Anft

Posted on 07/10/2011 4:27:43 PM PDT by fwdude

It announced itself among the young. Five otherwise healthy men in Los Angeles had been stricken by a rare, debilitating form of pneumonia. Baffled doctors reported the news in June of 1981, and, soon after, other scientists revealed a medical mystery of their own: young men with a skin cancer usually found among the elderly.

Within 18 months, the federal government linked the afflictions to a new disease that it named "acquired immune deficiency syndrome," or AIDS. By 1983, when scientists isolated the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) as the cause, 1,300 Americans had died — most of them under 40. Thirty years on, though, AIDS is increasingly a disease of older people, who make up the fastest-growing segment of the HIV-positive population.

The article is honest enough to mention that the main vector of HIV is perverted sex, although it casts this fact in a morally neutral light. That they'd even mention this is surprising coming from a leftist outfit like the AARP (Yes! they are Leftists!!!) But the false spin and lack of medical sanity is apparent everywhere, especially the overt avoidance any mention of the fact that the first name given to the disease was Gay Related Immunodeficiency Syndrome (GRIDS). And still apparent in the piece is the false slogan of "everybody is at risk." (Of course, if the sodomites had their way with the FDA's blood donation standards, everyone WOULD be at risk.)

The easiest way to get AIDS is through anal sex. Which explains it’s prevalence in certain groups.

But the WHO reprts that it’s only a 1 in 100 chance. So it takes some work.

However, the last I heard, AIDS has had no effect on the life expectancy of homosexuals.

They should have been locked up in hospital wards. I was, about that time, with TB. I couldn’t get out, until they finally determined that I was atypical, probably got it from gardening, and was not contagious. 9 months. Lost my apartment, my job, and all my possessions.

The article neglected to mention that even prior to 1981, the faggot community knew something blood-borne was affecting them.

They threatened to hit the blood banks and contaminate the blood supply if certain legislation they were against was passed in California.

So now we keep them alive longer with expensive drugs so they can infect more people, all the while not daring to condemn their lifestyle.

And those 5 were patients zero to one, and known as homos practicing unsafe, fag sex. That’s why at major intersections here in L.A, you will find massive billboards for HIV/AIDS tests, especially in Hollywood.

I did not read the article. My son acquired AIDS about 10 years ago. He was on the “streets” less than a year when, he didn’t acquire HIV+, but full blown AIDS.
He was immediately started on HAART, the high powered drug regimen at tax payer expence.
He will be on those drugs for the rest of his life. He was about 22yrs old. Life expectancy, mid-50’s.
Ten years ago those drugs were costing about $45,000/yr.
Go figure: $45,000/yr; for approx 30yrs at taxpayer expense; for a behavior he has chosen for himself.
Hello Obamacare and preferencial treatment for this segment of society.
He gave up the Gay Lifestyle while he thought he was dying.
Now, knowing the drugs will give him a near normal lifespan, he is lost to us.
Multiply my son by the thousands........
I am still his mother, and I still love my son, but this is reality.

Everyone should read “The Gift” a story about young male queers seeking to become infected with the HIV virus as something to take great pride in. This book shows the deep and sickening mental derangement of male homos. Consuming feces during acts of rimming and felching is not normal no matter what hollywood claims.

I think homosexuals have always been prone to the same sorts of diseases and syndromes and only a certain increase n prevalence gave them a name. It is like AIDS in Africa. The dread diseases that have plagued Africa since there were humans there are all now defined as AIDS so that we have the EPIDEMIC! on the Dark Continent, but the depopulation that would seem to follow on the supposed prevalence of AIDS there has not happened, not even a little.

This means that older people, like women once were, have been relatively free from AIDS.

Well, it just means that those with AIDS who have managed to stay alive through medication are maturing into this age range. But I don’t believe life is just hunky dorey for them as these and other propagandists depict. The treatment, for whom it works, still doesn’t result in a disease-free life and will always be a ball-and-chain through the duration of their shortened life. And the side affects can be debilitating in their own right.

Patient Zero Biography

Term used to refer to the individual who first introduced the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) — the virus that causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), a fatal transmissible disease of the immune system — into the United States.

The first cases of AIDS were identified in 1981 in Los Angeles, California; HIV itself was isolated in 1983. Most of the early victims of AIDS in the United States were either homosexual men (who generally contracted HIV through sexual contact) or intravenous drug users (who contracted the virus through sharing infected hypodermic needles). Ensuing research revealed that HIV is contracted mostly through exposure to contaminated bodily fluids, such as blood, semen and other genital secretions, and breast milk. As of 1996, AIDS had killed six million people worldwide, and it was estimated that 750,000 individuals in the U.S. and 23 million worldwide were infected with HIV. Presently, the main method of HIV transmission is heterosexual intercourse, which accounts for 70 percent of cases worldwide.

Early research into the AIDS epidemic rested on the assumption that a few people, possibly a single individual, had unwittingly brought the virus into North America. As the homosexual community was the first large group in North America to be affected by the disease (it was at first mistakenly dubbed the “gay cancer”), researchers at the Center for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta found a probable candidate within that community — one man who could be connected, through his sexual liaisons and those of his various lovers, to 41 of the first 248 cases of AIDS identified in the United States. The CDC referred to this man as “Patient Zero.”

In his book about the AIDS epidemic, And the Band Played On (1987), the journalist Randy Shilts identified Patient Zero as a French-Canadian airline steward named Gaetan Dugas. Officials of the CDC subsequently confirmed Shilts’ identification. According to their research, Dugas developed Kaposi’s sarcoma, a rare form of skin cancer often seen in AIDS victims, in June 1980. He later had intercourse with “by his own estimate” 250 partners a year until his death in 1984. The CDC linked Dugas with nine of the first 19 cases in Los Angeles as well as the first two cases in New York City and 41 cases in all. From the beginning, the CDC’s Patient Zero theory was extremely controversial and questions still remain about its viability.

In addition to the physical, psychological, and emotional devastation of HIV/AIDS is the high cost of treatment. The wholesale cost for the combination drug therapies treating HIV is about $14,000 annually per patient. (Medication costs can be much higher depending on the drugs included in the regimen.) A study completed in 2002 estimated that costs treating patients who had progressed to an AIDS disease were around $34,000 annually per patient. [14] Variations in this approximation include medications, hospitalization, diagnostic costs and clinic costs. The health care costs of AIDS diseases and drugs for treating HIV have impacted your health insurance premiums tremendously. The direct costs of HIV/AIDS are similar to other very serious illnesses; however, the indirect costs are higher since HIV affects predominantly working-age persons. [15]

Those graphs are bogus.

The “Exposed thorough hetero contact” numbers should be labeled: “Claimed by patient to be exposed...”

When diligent follow-up is done, men NEVER get it heterosexually, and the women all get it, um, the same way men get it from men.

Honestly, unprotected anal sex from dubious male partners is a terrible risk, and political correctness is silencing that life-saving advice.

Read Michael Fumento’s Myth of Heterosexual AIDS. He told the truth decades ago, and it all came true. He’s also an occasional Freeper, and his book on environmentalism turned me into a conservative.

Is there really such a thing as "protected" anal sex? Read MassMike's link above for a pharmacist's intelligent take on homosexual perversion. A horrific 13% failure rate for latex condoms to protect against HIV transmission.

I liken "safe sex" to trying to make Russian Roulette "safer" for you by adding about 10 more cylinders to the revolver.

Yes.

It’s like adding 999 cylinders to a Russian Roulette revolver.

It’s why the average gal whose regular sex partner (typically an IV drug abuser) take about two night of passion to become infected if they have anal sex, and about 500-1000 (before which he dies, so she lives) if they don’t.

See the “Padian Berkeley” study.

The “failure rate” of condoms” includes: “I forgot to use one”, and “It broke, but I thought, what the Heck.”

I have had a conversation with a homosexual man who told me point blank that the reason we should spend billions on AIDS research is to that homosexual men can have anal sex without a condom!

But to answer your question, a barrier is a barrier. Whether it keeps the fertile or fatal cells contained is the same.

I am just personally tired of the strawman argument that the media and other activists have made up about only homosexual men getting HIV. Who really believes that. But the truth is, it is highly disproportional how many of male AIDS cases are through homosexual behavior compared to the general population, when literally it’s only some minute percent of men that are homosexual.

I think you need to look up the meaning of the term "straw man." Your statements are more than a little ambiguous, and I'm not so sure that we disagree, but need clarification. Are you saying that AIDS IS predominantly a 'gay' disease but is disclaimed as such by homosexuals?

A "straw man" is a ridiculously false position or statement that a person attributes falsely to an opponent, and then disproves the statement, thereby trying to impeach the opponent's position. One of these is "gay 'marriage' will require people to 'marry' someone of the same sex," an argument that NO ONE for traditional marriage has argued but that the sodomites will parrot incessantly that we do make.

Yes, I am

pecially in the context of the U.S.A., where you gladly point out that 72% of the new AIDS cases are from homosexual men contracting it from sodomizing other men. But the media and activists drone on and on that it is not a gay disease, which assumes that an argument or belief exists that only gays get it, or that globally it is predominantly gay. Again, it’s a manipulation of the facts and the media presenting something that plenty of real people don’t believe, not even here on FR. In the US. you are correct, it is predominantly and disproportionately among a group (2-3% of the population)

Good, so we agree.

What's so ludicrous is that the sodomites claim AIDS is not a "gay" disease and yet overwhelmingly make AIDS awareness one of their core causes. They know that they OWN this disease, but won't come out and state the obvious.
