There is one more loose end that needs to be tied together regarding Gunwalker. In the last 2 1/2 months I have heard from very credible sources, who are unconnected, the same thing repeatedly - so frequently that it is truly frightening.
There have been numerous, and I mean NUMEROUS, muslim plots to wage Mumbai-style attacks against churches and synagogues that have been foiled and thwarted in the U.S. within the last several years.

The the ATF walked guns are being smuggled into Mexico so they can be used in a terrorist attack in the U.S.? Wouldn’t it be simpler to leave the guns in the U.S.?
I agree. A few years ago I was in Knoxville when a nut walked into a church with a twelve gauge and started blasting. I used to leave my weapon in my vehicle on Sundays, but now it stays with me. I don’t advertise it, but I’m sure I’m not the only one carrying.

Occam’s Razor and all, yes. But maybe the propaganda impact would be better if the terrorists used US-sourced guns crossing the border- buy AKs in the US, smuggle across the border to training camps, sneak back with the US guns.
The whole Gunwalker thing is irrational- start a coordinated media push of the concept of drug lords shopping for US guns in border gun shops, then supply the dopers with guns, and up the publicity including demands from the President of Mexico to “stop the flow of guns into Mexico”, the phony gun trace media hype, the whole thing seems horribly irrational.
But maybe having a Mumbai-type attack in the US with guns traced to gun shows and shops in Tx and Az would swing public opinion enough that the Congress would feel safe in their jobs to vote in some nasty legislation. “We’ve been working on gun control in the background”, remember that quote?
I thought the quote was a little more brazen than that. I believe the boob used the words “under the radar”.

A lot of them are out there concerning Gunrunner, like finding the Ogden video and the $10M funding are proof Obama ordered guns walked. No--those are only proof that a known project was authorized by the government--not in secret, but with press releases and everything.
GUNRUNNER has been well known. For a long time. See those "Journalist Guide" icons in the left margin of my WarOnGuns blog? Guess where I got the cover art to modify from? And Gunrunner is NOT synonymous with Fast and Furious--that was a component strategy presented as a sting op. that turned out to be something else.
Mike and I are concerned with gunWALKING--where the stated mission was deviated from with the criminal conspiracy we now see unfolding.
Suddenly I am being hit with a wave of tips about the old known stuff like it's being discovered for the first time--for many, I'm sure it is. I don't know if the genesis of that originates from people not knowing the history of this and jumping in to be helpful and spread the word, or if there is intent to sow confusion and misdirection.
Either way, it does not help, and can actually hurt. A lot.

As it turned out, the gunman was a severely mentally ill American who was a fan of Marx and Hitler. But the panic by the ATF was certainly warranted, and it will be warranted again when the first muslim Mumbai-style attack takes place on U.S. soil. The odds are very high that the weapons used will have been supplied by Obama, Clinton and Holder.

As for loughner, I STILL believe the man is a muslim...and the attack was a terror attack. His words and actions are completely in sync with muslim teachings, including his rants in the classroom and on whatever forum he was posting to. His actions while in prison are copycat antics of prisoners in Gitmo..and completely comsistent with the terrorist manual.
