Last week Tim Pawlenty was reluctant to criticize Representative Michele Bachmann, a fellow Minnesotan and one of his chief rivals for the Republican presidential nomination, saying in an interview only that everybody brings different strengths to the table.
But now, that reluctance appears to be waning. In an interview Sunday on Meet the Press on NBC, and again on Fox News on Monday morning, Mr. Pawlenty, a former Minnesota governor, derided Mrs. Bachmanns record as a member of Congress and her lack of executive experience.
I like Congresswoman Bachmann, Mr. Pawlenty said on NBC. Ive campaigned for her. I respect her. But her record of accomplishment in Congress is nonexistent. Its nonexistent.
And so were not looking for folks who, you know, just have speech capabilities; were looking for people who can lead a large enterprise in a public setting and drive it to conclusion. Ive done that. She hasnt.
The shift in tone reflects Mrs. Bachmanns emerging strength in Iowa, where polls show her at the top of the pack among Republican hopefuls, making her a bigger target for her rivals.
And for Mr. Pawlenty, the decision to take aim at Mrs. Bachmann is a recognition that he has staked just about everything on Iowa, a state where advisers hope he can prove himself to be the conservative alternative to Mitt Romney, a former governor of Massachusetts.
Shes leading in the polls in Iowa, Alex Conant, a spokesman for Mr. Pawlenty, said of Mrs. Bachmann. At this moment, shes the front-runner. We have a long ways to go, but we are confident that as voters learn more about Governor Pawlentys record, we will do very, very well."...

Like they used to say in the old west Mr. Pawlenty.
I haven’t seen any of your graveyards.
Just what is your record of achievement?
Pawlenty has a problem with this approach. IF he succeeds in turning people off of Bachmann with these arguments, it is unlikely that he will be the main beneficiary of the switch. These voters will go with Palin or Perry (yes, theya re both running, in my opinion).
Pawlenty would do better taking it out of Romney’s hide, hoping to Place. I don’t see a path to victory for Pawlenty.
He should hire someone to whack her across her knees. That might elevate him to greatness. Or not.
Tiny Tim is showing just how small he is.
T-Paw-—just quit. We dont need a Lady Gaga fan in the beige house.
I said before t-Paw ever announced he would be a tier 5 candidate with no chance of the nomination.
The guy running Citizen's United claims Perry & Palin both blew their chances, saying it's too late and they'll regret running, but he's clearly in the tank for Bachmann.
Well, look for THIS latest item about Michele and Mark to cause problems - first seized upon by Nightline and tonight (now) a “feature undercover” story by big-mouth Anderson Cooper on CNN. It’s about their faith-based counseling clinic and therapy for homosexuals:
Watch the LSM all have a field day with it.
So Tiny Tim violates Reagan’s 11th Commandent. Who the hell supports this guy? He was in for Cap and Tax. And he also did some other goofy things, thinking the wind was at his back. Enough. Be gone. You are boring anway.
IMHO: PAW-Lenty is TA-Oast.
What’s Timmy going to do, get GAGA to pose nude with him.
TP’s lackluster. I like Michele, but I think we should be prepared for the enemies’ tactics. The story I gave a link to has since been picked up by more networks, and was the lead feature on Anderson Cooper last night.
