House democrats blocked the repeal of the light bulb ban. A majority of Americans oppose the governments unpopular and unnecessary ban on incandescent bulbs and infringement on choice. On January 1 2012, 100 watt incandescent bulbs will become illegal, with lower wattages to follow.
The democrats just voted to give jobs to China.

Methinks a group of patriotic-minded Americans should get together in the middle of the night and throw box-fulls of these new light bulbs into the Boston harbor.
Our forefathers revolted over less than this. Now, I don’t advocate revolution — unlike them, we at least have something that almost resembles a representative government. But apparently we’re not making ourselves clear enough to those representatives — the American people SHOULD NOT put up with a government that believes it is more qualified to make choices regarding the type of lighting we put in our houses than We The People are!
When the EPA has to come in and spend millions to clean up the mercury, it would prove a point.
The steps of the capital building in DC would be a better target.
His actions may have been, for reasons I do not know, deliberate. I do not believe it was incompetence.
I find it asinine that Congress even votes on ONE stinkin’ tiny item - imagine if they HAD to vote to enact/repeal on every stupid little as well as big item that enrages the Enviro-Mentals.
This should’ve been a vote to sweep away ALL ridiculous rules restricting our possible choices of what to buy, as well as those of manufacturers to make.
Off my soapbox, I’m still POed they failed to get rid of this asinine ruling - BTW, instigated by Evil Big Corporation GE. Oh wait - they’re only evil if Dems say they’re evil. Dems can’t make up their minds.
“Do not use near water.”
And call hazmat for breakages?
Stu cleans up a broken LED bulb:
“Somehow, I have this strange feeling that that just would not fly for the very reason that the newly written Constitution never gave the federal government the powers to do that in the first place!”
Oh, but the weasels today say it’s OK because it WASN’T the Congress that did it - it was a department duly apointed by it, which was duly elected by the people - voila!
“Methinks a group of patriotic-minded Americans should get together in the middle of the night and throw box-fulls of these new light bulbs into the Boston harbor.”
To be more accurately analogous, it’d be sneaking into Lowe’s in the night, taking all their boxes of curly-fries, and dumping them from a height in the parking lot.
I won’t take from Home De(s)pot (still can’t resist saying that), because at least 1 of their big guys was openly against the ObamaCare-type socialist system.

OMG!!! This is AWFUL!!! ALL the DEMOCRATS VOTED FOR MERCURY LADEN LIGHT BULBS plus these RINOS!!! OUT WITH ALL OF THEM!!! IDIOTS!
Our forefathers revolted because of a 1/2% tax on tea and other items.
The tea was still on the boat and hadn’t been subject to tax yet, so throwing it overboard was a pain to the king.
I’d rather throw our reprehensible “representatives” into the harbor.
