Posted on 07/13/2011 4:47:30 AM PDT by marktwain
NBC Chicago blogger Edward Edward Mcclellands not happy about the fact that ex-con Rodrick Dantzler got ahold of a .40 caliber handgun and killed seven people in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The only way to prevent this sort of thing from happening again is to track the weapon back to the gun manufacturer, then burn its factory to the ground. As long as it is legal to make and sell a product whose only function is to kill people, that product will be used to kill people illegally. A thug whos planning a murder is not likely to worry about the penalty for stealing a gun. At least Eddy gets that part of the equation right. And then hes off again . . .
As a society, weve decided that the free manufacture of firearms is worth the sacrifice of seven people in Grand Rapids, or five people in DeKalb, or 32 people in Blacksburg, Va. Did you hear any politician suggest banning firearms after those bloodbaths? I didnt.
Nor will Eddy hear any great chorus for gun control. Most people are well aware that a firearm offers them protection from . . . other people with firearms. But Big Mac has it only slightly wrong. Here, let me fix it . . .
As a society, weve decided that the freedoms guaranteed by the individual right to keep and bear firearms are worth the dangers of living in society where criminals also have access to firearms.

When there’s a repeat of the Osaka school massacre in a US school, is this waste of space going to suggest burning down kitchen knife manufacturers?
Just because you appear crazy, doesn’t mean that you aren’t.
So these anti-gun fools think if someone kills someone with a rolled-up NYTimes they should burn their presses to the ground? Truly...these liberal idiots are mentally ill.
Leftwing Liberalism (socialism/progressivism, etc - or whatever the kids are calling it these daze) is truly a mental disorder.
Leftwing socialism always fails. ALWAYS.
Leftwing socialism always fails econmically.
Leftwing socialism always fails morally.
Leftwing socialism responsible for 200 million deaths in 20th century.
Leftwing socialism is pure, satanic evil.
So if the leftwingnuts are so intelleigent, why do they continue belief in a failed and evil system?
For the POWER and STOLEN WEALTH.
Perhaps if we locked up criminals and reinstated the notion of consequences for one’s actions, we could initiate a cultural shift.
Damned Nazis. Why won't they just "go away". I guess they were asking the same questions in the late 30's. We all know how that turned out.
“They that can give up essential liberty to gain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” - Benjamin Franklin
”Gun control? It’s the best thing you can do for crooks and gangsters. I want you to have nothing. If I’m a bad guy, I’m always gonna have a gun. Safety locks? You will pull the trigger with a lock on, and I’ll pull the trigger. We’ll see who wins.” — Former Mafia hit man turned informant Sammy “the Bull” Gravano
News from LA Times:
A brawl among about 30 women near a busy South Los Angeles intersection turned deadly Monday when a woman plowed her car into the crowd, killing a woman who was eight months pregnant, authorities said.
Someone inspired by this writer would say: The only way to prevent this sort of thing from happening again is to track the car back to the automobile manufacturer, then burn its factory to the ground. As long as it is legal to make and sell a product that can be used so easily to kill people, that product will be used to kill people illegally. A thug whos planning a murder is not likely to worry about the penalty for ramming a crowd with a car.
The nice thing is that the far left's dismal economy has figuratively burned the far left UAW's factories to the ground. Karma can be beautiful.
He sounds like a terrorist to me. Send him to Gitmo.
Be careful here - don't leave him with the impression that you actually watch his drivel.
do these idiots want to open this can of worms
Wow, wish I were that brilliant.
For the record the left isn’t anti-gun. Many, many lefties own them even those who blather on about how no one should be able to have one (or more). The problem they have w/ guns is that you can own and use them. They’re OK but youll always be suspect. The gun issue is about ones place in society and not the h/w. The left sees themselves at the top and you at the bottom. Anything that might equalize this should be outlawed for you but not them. They were created to rule and you were created to slave (for them). So, anti-gun is just another smoke screen to hide the raw totalitarian face of liberalism.
So this liberal would be happy to torch cigarette factories?
Of course not. They kill people but the tax money is just too big to “burn down.” Phony annoying liberal alert!!!
to be really successful they need you to give up your guns
I expect an Executive order on banning guns or their sale soon. The play is proceeding even though the fraud has been discovered.
It is pointless to argue with idiots who ascribe moral attributes tools.
That being said, Mr. Mcclelland [sic], has not only proposed arson against legitimate businesses with which he disagrees, but has published his criminal desires. That is not free speech. That borders on solicitation of criminal acts; although I doubt the ACLU or Holder’s people disagree with him.
